Teddy_Money

I took this photo the other day when I was taking photos for my money project assignment with my Nikon D3200. I took this photo in the morning when the sunlight was in the perfect area to capture this photo. I took this photo in my dining room on the table. Of the many photos I captured for the project I liked this one the most in particular for many reasons. The first thing that I liked was that there wasn't anything distracting in the background in this photo, which keeps the viewers attention on the main subject of this photo. I also liked the lighting in this photo, it wasn't too harsh or washed out which helps keep the quality of the photo just right for the viewer. I also like how the light is coming from different parts of the table, the center in the back, the left side of the table, and a little bit from the lower center of the photo. I also liked that the depth of field in this photo was very shallow which captures about just the right amount of detail for this photo. I also like how in the focal point in the depth of field, that it allows you to see little specks of dust that are on the table, this allows an extra touch of quality to the photo. I also like how the fragments of dust sparkle from the sunlight, which also allows the photo to look more interesting to the photo. I also like how from the sunlight casting on the penny it allows the penny to cast a circular ring of light onto the wooden table, which also allows a slight mirror-image reflection of the penny onto the table. I also like the choices of colors in this photo of browns, reds, oranges, grays, blacks, and whites in this photo. I like how the brownish red color of the table is complimentary to the color of the reddish color of the penny, which allows a great color combo in the photo. I also like the lines of texture that were shown in the photo from the wooden table because they go through the penny from below which helps drag the attention of the photo towards the penny. I used all natural lighting to capture this photo with no additional lighting needed. I also like how the lighting from the the upper center part of the photo is shining down towards the penny and the lighting from the lower center part of the photo is reflecting up to the penny, this allows brings the attention towards the subject in this photo, without this it wouldn't be as interesting of a photo as it is. Without all of these things featured in this photo it wouldn't be as great of a photo as it already is as opposed to a photo that doesn't have much detail in one photo.

  1. I love how you captured this photo. The lighting adds another layer to the photo, so instead of just having the coin on a table and shooting it, the lighting adds more details to the table and the coin in the photo. The only thing I would change about the lighting is in the bottom of the photo it is a bit over exposed. I also like the colors you were able to capture. The colors of the coin and the table blend nicely together. The markings in the wood of the table also add more nice details to the photo. Overall this is a really nice photo with many details and great focus. Keep up the great work.

    1. Thank you so much for your feedback! I will try my best in the future to make sure that there isn't any over exposure when I try to attempt capturing a photo of a penny on a table. I will definitely make sure to fix those issues next time round for sure. I do agree the lighting does add another layer to the photo instead of just having a random coin on a table and capturing it without positioning it right before taking the photo. I enjoyed capturing this photo with the right lighting. Thank you again for your great and insightful thoughts in your comment.
