Grace M. shapes/ patterns

I took this photo of my brother, John. I told him to hold his fingers up like so. When he held his fingers up like this it created a rectangle shape and this photo is taken with flash. When i took it without flash it looked kind of darker and the light didn't reflect off his forehead, cheeks and wall. The lighting came from above him but with flash you can't tell. I also put the flash on for the detail because you can see more detail with the flash on. Along with the rectangle, his shirt is all stripes which is considered a pattern. I wasn't going to make this photo for the pattern though. Since the shirt is stripes, other backgrounds did not look as good because it would take the focus away from him and the photo itself was a little too busy.

  1. I think this is a pretty good photo for shapes and patterns because it has shapes and patterns. I like that his shirt is stripes (aka a pattern) and that you told him to make a rectangle aka a shape) with his hands. I think that captured the assignment pretty well. I also like, and this was most likely not intentional, that his fingers kinda bend in a 90 degree angle and all of them together almost makes a square (aka another shape). I kind of like the lighting because on the wall it progressively gets darker as you move out of the photo which technically is a pattern too.
