Flower buds_Julianna

I took this photo of some flowers growing on a tree while I was on a walk this afternoon. I like this photo because of the depth of field and how some parts of the photo are in focus and some are not. I also like the colors in the photo. The pinks and reds of the flowers go nicely with the blue sky and the tree branches. I also like how this photo does not have one main focal point, there are numerous flower buds that the viewers can look at and see the details in them. If I could change anything about the photo it would be to get the power line out of the shot in the bottom of the photo, I was able to avoid most of the power lines but that one managed to get in the photo. I would rather not have it there because it is distracting.

  1. I like this photo for a number of reasons. First I like how the depth of field in this photo is shallow because it draws your eyes directly into the photo rather than drawing your eyes out of the center of the photo. I think the lighting in this photo is just right because the colors are well balanced and not washed out from any sunlight distortions. I think with the sunlight coming from behind or to the side of the photo avoids any extreme overexposures to the colors in the photo. I also like how the blossoming flower buds are in smooth and crisp focus because it allows you to get a glimpse at the little details and textures of the freshly blossomed buds on the trees. I also like how some of the sunlight is reflected onto some of the tree branches because it adds more natural reflected colors on the tree buds and the branches. I also like how the tree buds have multi shades of reds and pinks because it adds a nice mix of colors in this photo. I also like how the middle branches are focused the most because it draws your eyes directly into the center of the photo which is the main focus point of your photo. I also like how the pinkish red buds complement well with the grayish blue skies because it makes a nice natural background to your photo and it makes the colors of the blossoms reflect out well in this photo. I like how also this photo is taken at an upwards angle because it takes away the other distracting objects in the background. I wouldn't change anything in this photo because the power line wire is barely noticeable and it doesn't reduce the value of your photo. The power line blends in well with the lower branch nicely so I wouldn't change the photo. Nice job. Keep up the good work.

    1. Thank you for the feedback. I agree with you that the colors and textures of the flower buds do make the photo come together. I did not realize that the power line was not that noticeable, I thought it was distracting but now that you point it out it really is not noticeable and it does blend in with the tree nicely. Thanks again for the feedback.
