Alex_Stream water patterns

I went for a long nature walk today since the weather was in the mid fifties. I took over 150 photos and this was by far my favorite photo I took on my walk. I chose this photo because I think this photo has a lot of great things in this photo. First I like the patterns the rushing water stream running under a little foot bridge because it makes a nice texture and detail to this photo. I like that the light isn't too overexposed because you can see some sparkles of the sun near the middle bottom frame of the photo. I really like how the patterns of the moving water bend and go different directions because it adds variety to this photo and makes it appealing to look at. I like how the water pattern towards the center of the photo has parallel lines tracing the same design from the first curved line. I like how the lines are all constant and uniform in texture because it makes the feel of the photo gentle and relaxing. I also like how above the middle part of the photo the ripples are moving in the opposite direction and pointing down and across the photo. I like how the other ripply pattern is more zig zag and wire-like compared to the middle frame water pattern is completely different because it makes a good opposite effect to it. I like how the stream water flow bends from two different directions and come together and make patterns. I think with the many different wavy water patterns moving in different directions really draws your eyes into the photo and allow your eyes too look at which directions the patterns go. I also like the different colors on the bottom of the little stream with oranges, browns, greens, reds, and yellow because it adds more variety to the photo. I also like how the water is transparent and reflective because it draws in all the light from the sun and refracts the light a bit. I also like how the water looks multi toned from the objects under the water and the colors of the sky reflecting on the water because it makes the lighting in the photo reflect the details and feelings for the photo as a whole. I like how the depth of field is wide in this photo because it allows the viewer to see all of the different textures and details on the water and patterns. The only thing I wish I could have changed in this photo would have been to have a little bit of the white rock on the bottom right corner on the frame of the photo to be focused a little bit more and a little bit less overexposed because part of the colors of the rock are washed out and a bit out of focus, but its not anything significant that would reduce the colors of the water stream. I took this on my Nikon D3200 with my zoom 55-200mm lens, without flash, using natural lighting, auto focus adjustments, wider depth of field range, auto iso settings and auto white balance.

  1. I like this photo because of the colors in the ripples and the light sources. One of the lead sources is obviously from the reflection in the river. Keep up the good work! wouldn't change a thing.

    2. Thanks for your feedback, I agree with you about the color in this photo because it has a fair amount of different colors in the photo. I also agree with you that the light sources are also important to the photo because it draws your attention to the center of the photo. I also agree with you about the water reflection because it is one of the most important focal points in this photo which draws you into the photo and look at the many different patterns and details in the photo. I think the water patterns are probably the most important part of this photo because it makes the photo stand out well. I think with these important elements with the good lighting, the reflections and the details makes this photo appealing to look at. I agree with you about the ripples because it makes the photo very interesting and different. I like the ripples because it adds texture and detail to this photo. I think without the ripples the photo would look too plain to look at and there wouldn't be any focal points to look at directly.
