Eric_Portrait

I took this photo of my friend Peter after school. I asked him to stand under a roof to avoid the direct sun light. And because of the need of accessory, I gave him my glasses and asked him to make a serious expression. That made him look more like a scholar and I really like this feeling. But I forgot to add another little light source from his left, which can make more reflection of his eyes and make this portrait looks better.

  3. I really like this photo. I like the lighting on the subject of this photo because he is well lit and that he is in perfect focus. I like the variety of color in this photo with the contrast of tan, whites, blues, gray, and brown in this photo because it adds more flavor to this photo. I also like the natural shadows on his shirt in this photo because it adds contrast to his navy blue uniform shirt. I like that his face is not out of focus because it maintains its portrait quality. The only thing I would have changed would have been to frame it more to the right because the right side of his body is cut off from the photo, and the background and the left side of his face is harshly overexposed because it takes away the attention of the portrait a little bit. I also would have positioned him away from the rain gutter because it distracts the essence of the portrait. I think if there wasn't a gutter behind his left shoulder in the photo, it would be less distracting. Otherwise I really like the quality of detail you can see in this portrait. Keep up the nice work.

  4. I think this photo came out great. I typically don't really like far away portraits but this one was really good because of the great lighting in the background. I also like how you can see lighting coming in on his face from one side and how you can see some details in his hair.
