Flower buds_Julianna

I took this photo of some flower buds growing on a tree by my house. I took this photo for the spring anew/ winter remnants assignment. I like this photo because of the small depth of field. The shallow depth of field allows the viewer to focus on the main point of the photo which is the flower bud. I also like it because it allows the viewer to see all the tiny details in the flower bud itself. I also like the colors of the photo, the brown of the branches contrasts nicely with the reds on the flower bud. I also like the angle I took the photo at. The bud is not in the center which allows the viewer to see the bud from a different perspective.

  1. I like how there isnt any distractions in the photo. The flower stands out because of the color and because of the focus. another thing about this photo is that it isn't too sunny so there aren't any confusing shadows, and it isn't too cloudy so that there are weird linings on things. You chose a good day take this photo and it looks good.

  2. I think this photo is really cute. I agree with grave that it doesn't have a lot of distractions. I like how the background is grayish but there's that little pop of color in the flower. I also like how you can see some nice detail in the bud. Good job

  3. I think the lighting in this photo is absolutely incredible. It is not too sunny and it is also not too dark and there are no harsh shadows so good job! I also think it is very nice how the background does not have much color because I think it emphasizes the pink flower. I would however argue against the first two comments though because I think there are some distractions but most of the distractions lead to the flower that is the main focus of the photo so it is not a big deal and in my opinion adds a little sense of nature to the photo. I think the focus is on point too. I think it is great that you chose to only focus on the single flower rather than the flower and the brance and the other flower and etc... Good job
