Alford_sunset
I took this photo with my Nikon D40. This is at the reservoir near my house. I was walking my dog with my sister. And my sister said I should run back home and get my camera. She thought that the sunset would be a good shot. And I agreed. So when I got my camera I took like ten photos. But they were all in bad focus. So I zoomed in as much as I could and I got a a good shot. I was trying to get the reflection of the sky on the water. I also tried to get the trees to be completely black. And I ended up with this photo.

I really like this photo a lot. I think that this photo has a lot of great pieces to the photo. I like this photo for a number of reasons. The first thing that I really like about this photo would have to be the lighting in this photo, it is just the perfect amount of light in this photo and it isn't at all over exposed which enables the photo to remain very interesting for the viewer to look at and enjoy. Another thing that I also like about the lighting in this photo is that it isn't too bright, which enables the tone of the photo to be calm and peaceful for the viewer to look at. Another thing that I also like about this photo is the color options in this photo, which is a variety of blues, grays, oranges, reds, blacks, whites, and yellows. I think that without these options of colors in this photo that it wouldn't be as interesting of a photo that it already is. Another thing that I also like about this photo is that you were able to capture the orangish red of the lower part of the sky where the sun had recently gone down for the day because most of the time in photos, cameras sometimes cannot capture the greatness of the colors of the sky, luckily you were able to capture that in this photo, which makes the photo have a great interesting touch to the photo. Another thing that I also like about this photo would be the background because there isn't anything distracting that would keep your eye away from the whole photo's emotion to the viewer. Another thing that I like about this photo is that you were able to capture the reflection of the orangish red sky through the water of the reservoir in the far center area of the water, I think that is probably among the most interesting parts of this photo because it adds a great amount of quality to the photo as opposed to a photo of a body of water without any reflection at all in it. Lastly I like how you captured the clouds in this photo because it creates interesting wispy textures to the photo. I don't think that I would change anything in this photo. Great work and keep it up, it is a great photo.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the compliments. I did try to get great lighting in this photo. At first i put on the flash, but it made the water look weird. I also did want to get a variety of colors in this photo, especially when I noticed the sunset. I didn't want anything distracting in the photo, the first couple of photos I took there was a car on the bridge with it's lights on. So I had to take a couple more photos. I did try to get the reflection of the sky on the water to make the photo look nice. I also wanted the clouds in the photo. Thanks again!
DeleteI think that the fact that the trees in the background of your photo are a great addition to this photo. And it is super cool too how even though the trees are black you can still see where the branches are on the orange which I think is cool. Speaking of orange I also really like how the whole photo is kind of dark and stuff and the orange is super bright and pretty. I think it would've been so cool if you took one of those upside down but still right side up photos. I don't know if you know what I mean but that's just a suggestion for the future. Keep up the great work
