Teddy_Mr. Bumble from Oliver!

I took this photo when I went to see the spring musical "Oliver!" on Friday night using my Nikon D3200. I took over a hundred photos at the play and thought that this one was among the best of all the photos that I took. I liked this one in particular because of many reasons. I used all stage lighting to capture this photo with no additional flash. The first thing that I liked about this photo was the background, I like how the background is all dark and nothing to show in the background, this allows the main subject to be the focus for this photo. Another thing that I also like about this photo is that the main subject is practically completely in focus to allow the most amount of detail and texture in the photo. Another thing that I also like about this photo is that there isn't anything distracting in the photo to take away the attention of Nick as Mr. Bumble in the photo. Another thing that I also like about this photo is the lighting in the photo, the lighting isn't too harsh or too exposed that would weaken the quality of the photo itself. I think that having this amount of light in this photo is just the right amount. Another thing that I also like about the lighting is that I was able to capture the right lighting in this photo because depending on the camera the lens sometimes doesn't pick up the natural lighting and coloring because of the spotlights and stage lighting to get the right skin tone colors. This photo however was able to capture the precise skin tone from the spotlight and stage lighting that it made the photo just right as opposed to a photo that had washed out colors that were inaccurate to the actual colors. Another thing that I also like about this photo is the colors in this photo such as reds, golds, blacks, tans, blues, browns, yellows, and whites. I think that by having these options for colors in this photo that it enables it to have a better selection and variety for the photo. Another thing that I also like about this photo is from the stage light reflecting on Nick created a shadow of his hand holding the staff on his coat as well as a shadow of the corner of his hat on the side of his face closest to the view of the lens in this photo. I think that by having the shadows in this photo allows an extra touch to the photo which enables it to have more quality to the photo. I think that by having all of these things in the photo that it makes this photo a very interesting photo to look at.

  2. This is a very good photo as a portrait, the face of the character is emotional and dramatic, you caught that moment by your camera. The dark background highlights the character and good focus shows a lot of dress details. The contrast between the black and colorful part makes this photo looks really professional. Good work!
