ParkerY_Misc
This was a picture taken as a practice shot when I was shooting for the black and white project. The first reason I like this photo is because of the red fore color contrasting with the green, yellow, black, and grey background. Another thing that I like about this photo is that the contrast in the crisp front ground and the blurred out background.

Odisi_Anivia
This is a photo I took at Pax East of a League of Legends Champion named Anivia. I took this photo today. I think this photo is pretty cool because she is the only blue on the photo and she is right in the middle so I think it makes her stand out a lot. I wish the box in the background and that backpack were not there but there really is not much I could have done about it. If I could change the photo I would probably change the whole background into something that would fit with Anivia so maybe like the game map or something because although i think she stands out on this background, I do not think it is the best background for her. Also I think it is kinda cool that you can see the fuzzyness of her costume and you can tell that the wings, feet, chest and head are made of a hard thing. I do not know how to put it into words but I think it is nice.
Pink Flower_Julianna
I took this photo of a flower that was growing on a flower bush in my front yard. I took this photo because the flower had many different colors and details. I like how the pinks and yellows in the photo blend nicely with one another. I also like how I was able to capture the details in the petals and center of the flower. I also like the focus in the photo. The focus is only on the flower and everything else in blurred out around it which allows the viewer to focus on the main focal point of the photo. I also like how the lighting is not over exposing the photo or taking away from the details in the photo.
Alex_First Home Spring Track Meet
I took this photo a few weeks ago when Marian had their first home spring track meet at Bowditch field. I went there to support the team and take some good photos of the team during the events. I took many photographs at the meet and I think this photo was among one of my best action photos I got of Christian at the last stretch in the 400 meter hurdles. I like this photo for many reasons. First I think the lighting in this photo is well lit because it isn't too bright or too dark, this makes the colors balanced well. I also like how as he is pushing towards the finish line you can see the motion and speed of him running. I also like how it focused because you can visualize the motion of the photo of his fast speed as the camera is trying to focus crisply. I also like how you can see a lot of emotion of his actions trying to catch up to the opponent track runner out of the frame. I also like how his shoes and his legs are partially off the ground because it makes this photo more interesting to look at. I also like how his hair is also blowing because it resembles his acceleration to the finish line. I also like how this photo is sort of a candid action photo because it picks up adrenaline and momentum to the nature of this sports action photo. I also like how the angle of this photo is slightly at a tilt because it adds more of a perspective to the point of view in this photo. I also think having him non centered makes this photo better because it adds more depth and distance to this photo. I also like how most of the foreground and middle ground is in focus and a wide depth of field because it enables the photo to pick up more of the intensity of the track race at large which allows you to focus your attention into the photo rather than looking away from the photo. I think its important in a photo like this to have a wider depth of field and focus because it opens up more dimensions and quality to this photo as a whole. I also like how there are a slight variety of different colors and light shades in this photo because it makes the photo look more interesting and makes the photo less dull to look at. I like how there are different shades of red and green in this photo because it adds more contrast to this photo. I also like how vibrant green his shoelaces are because it draws your attention into the photo rather than away from the photo. The only thing I wish I could change in this photo would have been to move the dropped paper off the grass of the side of the track because it makes it slightly distracting. The other thing I wish I could have changed would have been to just slightly crop off the top of the photo because you can see a little bit of a pipe above the wall of the grandstands. I took this photo on my Nikon D3200 without flash, using auto focus adjustments, natural lighting, auto iso settings and faster shutter speeds to get the action of the track runner.
Grace m. our city
Over break I didn't do a lot of things but one of the few things I did was go into Boston to support a family friend and my aunt while they crossed the finish line in the Boston Marathon. At this point of the day (around 6:00) I was getting bored of doing nothing so I started taking photos. There are two major reflections both coming from the buildings and both reflecting off of each other. Theres a lot of blue and white in this photo and a little bit of brown. I was looking up at an angle and I had to crop the original photo because there were too many distractions from other mini buildings or a light pole and other things.
Alford_sunset
I took this photo with my Nikon D40. This is at the reservoir near my house. I was walking my dog with my sister. And my sister said I should run back home and get my camera. She thought that the sunset would be a good shot. And I agreed. So when I got my camera I took like ten photos. But they were all in bad focus. So I zoomed in as much as I could and I got a a good shot. I was trying to get the reflection of the sky on the water. I also tried to get the trees to be completely black. And I ended up with this photo.
Teddy_Sunrise
I took this photo when I went out for a morning walk to watch the sunrise using my Nikon D3200. Of the many photos I took of the sunrise, I liked this one in particular for many reasons. The first thing that I liked about this photo is the various forms of colors in this photo such as blues, pinks, yellows, golds, grays, tans, blacks, and whites found in this photo. I think that without having these options of colors in this photo it wouldn't be as interesting of a photo as it already is, as opposed to a photo without many color options in it. Another thing that I also like about this photo is the lighting in this photo, the lighting in this photo isn't over-exposed or too harsh in spots throughout the photo that would be distorting to the photo. I used all natural lighting to take this photo with no additional flash needed. Another thing that I also like about this photo is that there isn't anything distracting in the background to keep your eye away from the most important parts of the photo. Another thing that I also like about this photo is that when I captured this photo, I was able to get the sun's reflection on the ocean water, I think by having this in the photo allows an extra touch to the photo because it extends all the way back to the far background in the distance to allow a landscape shot. Another thing that I also like about this photo is that you can see the sunlight is reflecting through the edges of the clouds to create an interesting effect to the photo. Another thing that I like about the photo is the sunlight's rays beaming on all sides of the photo through the upper center, both left and right and from below. I think that the rays of the sun is probably among the most important components of the photo. I think that without this in the photo it wouldn't have been as interesting of a photo as it already is. Lastly I like how the rays are peaking out of the clouds and are aiming down to the bottom of the water in the distance. I think that without having all of these things in this photo it wouldn't be as interesting of a photo as it already is.

cahines_dirty pot (makeup 4/03)
This photo was one of my favorites taken this term. I took this photo a little early then noon in the library at school. I really like how the bright green and pink contrast each other and make them stand out to look more vibrant. I like how the couple of petals are in good focus and how you can see some light coming I through the leaf. I actually found the petals like this and got a good picture out of it, I didn't move them.
cahines_sky (makeup 3/27)
I took this photo about mid day outside of Marian when we had a free day to take pictures. I like how in this photo there isn't really on specific focus spot or spot that your eyes go directly to. I kind of feel that this photo kind of has a gradual effect where there are trees at the bottom that fades up to the sky. I also like how the clouds aren't too harsh against the sky. Instead they are soft and the light blue sky blends in with the off white greyish clouds.
Daniel_Leaves( Make up for 3/27)
I took this photo outside the school, this photo didn't have any focus but you can still see all the details on this photo, it has lots of things going on in this photo, I like the light on the leaves which for me looks really good, the light reflection on the leaves and the shadow on the leaves which add more depth on this photo, the tiny things on the photo which I think was good, you can see lots of details on the tiny things, this photo for me doesn't have any distracting on it, which was good, and I kind like it. Also you can see the only part that expose on the light is the middle of the photo, which was good because it can draws you eyes right into the middle of the photo.
Odisi_Photo
I took this photo also at the arcade and also because my mother was telling me to take pictures of everyone. I like this photo because a lot of it is in focus and the whatever is in the background is not in focus. I also think It is cool because half of the photo is darker than the other half so the right is lighter i mean. I like how her skin tone looks like it would be a close shade to the wood on the left side but it is not, it is just the light side making it look darker. I also like how her shirt contrasts against the brown bear but her hair is a close enough shade. I wish this photo was taken vertically because it would have looked better in my opinion since I think there is a lot of empty space on the sides that could have been the rest of her arm / upper body.
Odisi_Games
I took these photos at an arcade my family and I went to. I took this first photo of my brother because my mom told me to but I liked how the colored lights looked on them so I tried getting another one but closet and the second one is the best I could do. I like it because it is not normal light because of the blue glowing buttons and it colors their faces differently. I also think the contrast between the dark interior and the white ish wall is good. I wish they would have stayed still for a second while I took the photo so it would not be as blurred as it is. But I think the really bright blue stands out a lot and highlights both their faces and the fact that they are playing a game and the random green light in the back I think helps separate his shirt from the back of the little helicopter. I also think that their faces show a lot of emotion so one could imagine that they are playing an intense game but it is a helicopter version of flappy bird.
Odisi_RainDrops
I took this photo at school for the assignment where we had to take pictures on the fourth floor. I took it in the bio lab. It was raining that day which you can probably tell so I decided it would be cool to take a photo of the window. I think this photo is cool because it is the rain droplets that are in focus but you can still see the blurred outline of the house and all the colors and everything. I also like how there are no cars on the roads because I think it makes the photo look like it was of the house since it is right in the middle. I think I should have moved down a little more before taking the photo because I do not like how much light is coming from the top of the photo, I like the bottom better because it is easier to tell that the raindrops are in focus.

Eric_Way(make up)
This photo is the front door of my yard. I put the camera on the ground to take this photo, and as you can see the focus is on the close brick of the way out, because of the shallow depth of lens field, the two meters away front door already looks blurry, which makes a illusion that the door is further than real. "Way" out is always looks further than real but actually it is not.
Eric_Spring(make up)
This photo was taken in the evening of last Monday, after the storm. I call this photo "spring", because as I can see the grass on the ground are green and growing. Although the snow cover some of them, they were still trying to drill out, that's also why I used a really low position of camera to shoot the ground. I used a high ISO setting to get enough light so that the photo looks not very dim. I think a low ISO with a tripod and long exposure will gives better photo with less noise. But unfortunately my tripod cannot hold my camera at that low position.

Daniel_River
I took this photo with my COOLPIX L330, this photo was took outside of school, the river near the parking lot, when I saw this beautiful view, I just took nine of these photos and finally choose this one, you can see lots of stuff in this photo, trees, grass, woods and river, you also can clear see all the detail in this photo, I kind like the reflection on the river, it adds more depth on this photo, the light on this photo looks really good too, , you can see the shadow on the tree, it also adds more depth on this photo, when you look at the river, the color of the river keeps getting brighter and brighter, it looks really cool.

Flower buds_Julianna
I took this photo of some flower buds growing on a tree by my house. I took this photo for the spring anew/ winter remnants assignment. I like this photo because of the small depth of field. The shallow depth of field allows the viewer to focus on the main point of the photo which is the flower bud. I also like it because it allows the viewer to see all the tiny details in the flower bud itself. I also like the colors of the photo, the brown of the branches contrasts nicely with the reds on the flower bud. I also like the angle I took the photo at. The bud is not in the center which allows the viewer to see the bud from a different perspective.
Odisi_Spring
I took this photo during class one day for the digital assignment. I really like this photo because I think it captures spring really well even though it snowed today. I think it's pretty cool how many different shades of green there are in one photo. I also like how the purple stands out because it's pretty much the only non green color in the photo (except for the brown dirt but that's because all the grass hadn't fully grown in and if I could change that I would).I wish the sun wasn't so bright because I think on the top of the photo it is too bright and is making some of the colors be white. I think the photo would have turned out better if I had held something to block out some sun so it wouldn't be so bright. other than that I think it's a great especially the purple flowers.
grace m pool
I took this photo at my job after closing so nobody was there. Its at wayland community pool. At first the photo was just of the pool then I decided to have the pool be in the background with the pole in focus. Theres a lot of light that is reflected off of different things such as the water, the ceiling, and the pole itself then theres light from the window and the lights. Theres also several colors in this photo.

Alex_Pine Tree Needles & Pine Cones
I took this photo a couple weeks ago in March when I went out to take photos for our winter remnants spring anew assignment. I took many photos and I think this photo was among one of my good photos I took. I like this photo for many reasons. First thing that I like about this photo is the lighting because the light source is coming from above the branch on the right frame of the photo. I like how the lighting is casting through the pine needles because it makes the green needles have multiple shades of green and it also makes a color contrast between the darker green needles which aren't lit completely by the sunlight compared to the bright lit needles. I also like how the depth of field in this photo is somewhat shallow because it makes the photo easier to look at and it reduces most of the visible distractions around the photo. I also like how the needles aren't in complete focus because it makes the photo have more tones to it and it also allows the photo to have more dimensions to it as well. I also like how the blurred out blue sky peaking out in the background mixes with the pine branch because it makes the photo have a smooth feeling to it. I also like how some of the well lit pine needles are because it creates a sort of glowing/sparkling effect to the photo which makes the photo more interesting to look at. I also like how the most focused branch of pine needles is in the center of the photo because it keeps your eyes directly into the photo rather than looking off to the side of the photo to look at the main focus point. I think with the different light shaded tones on the pine needles adds more variety and appeal to make this photo interesting to look at. I also like how fuzzy the background is because it makes the photo have more natural shapes and patterns to smoothen the subject of the pine tree branch and the pine cones. I think with having some of the branches beside the main focused branch or behind the main focused branch out of focus makes the photo have a deeper perspective and it adds more depth to the photo as well. I also like how the blurred out branches and tree trunks in the background are because it makes them look thicker and wider when they are blurred out and unable to see clearly because it adds more patterns to the photo. I also like how the pine needles aren't all facing the same direction and perfectly aligned with each needle perfectly because it adds more variety to the photo. It also adds more attention to the viewer because it allows you to look more closely at the details in the photo as a whole. I also like how the branches are lit because it allows you to see the tiny textures of the pine needles and the small details of the needles as well. The lighting in this photo was crucial for this photo because it brought in the most color tones and details to see clearly. I think if this photo didn't have multiple varieties of light exposure amounts the photo wouldn't have as much variety and contrast to the photo, and it would make the photo less interesting to look at. I also like how the blurred out branches and objects in the background of the pine tree branches are because you can see more variety of color as well. The patterns and directions of the blurred objects in the background being in all different directions and shapes adds variety to the photo. The only thing I wish I could have changed in this photo would have been to have some of the pine cones to be less overexposed because it slightly washed out the color tones of the pine cones, and it made it more harsh a little bit. The other thing I wish I could have changed in this photo would have been to not show part of a blurry pine tree branch on the bottom left corner frame of the photo because it slightly distracts the attention of the main focus point in the photo, but not significantly. I took this photo on my Nikon D3200 with natural lighting, without flash, using my zoom lens, auto iso speeds, auto focus adjustments, and auto white balance settings.
Teddy_Plant Buds
I took this photo when I went out for a walk on Friday afternoon using my Nikon D3200. I used all natural lighting to capture this photo. Of the forty or so photos that I captured, I liked this one in particular for a number of reasons. The first thing that I like about this photo is the lighting in this photo, it isn't harsh at all and it isn't overexposed in any areas of the photo, which helps keep the photo look nice for the viewer. Another thing that I also liked about this photo is that when I went to take this photo that the zoom lens that I used to take the photo had pulled the focus in tightly towards the center of the photo and blurred out the background completely. Another that I like about this photo is the that blurred out of focus background is blurred out so much that it looks very fine and smooth looking texture to the background's texture. I think that if the lens wasn't able to blur out the background the photo's main subject attention towards the blossoming and budding plant wouldn't have gotten the fullest attention to the viewer and would instead make the viewer look everywhere in the photo to find the main subject. Another thing that I also like about this photo is the options of colors in the photo of blues, reds, yellows, grays, browns, pinks, and whites. By having a selection of colors in this photo that isn't overly chromatic or an excessive variety of colors enables the viewer to be able to catch their eye on the colors that stand out the most than from the ones that don't grab the attention as much, for this photo in particular the reds and pinks grab the most attention in this photo. I think that if the colors weren't those options it wouldn't be as dark enough to catch the eye instantly. Another thing that I also like about this photo is how I was able to capture the buddings, on the left side of the buds seem to be equally aligned going down in a line as they flop downwards, I think this an interesting feature for the photo to add an extra touch to the photo. I also like that all the buds in the front are in focus whereas the ones in the back are blurred out and out of focus. By having that in the photo shows the perspective of full detail up close and blurred out in the distance. Another thing that I also like about this photo is that the background isn't overly distracting and that you can see a very slight shadow of trees, but it is not that much to take the viewers attention away from the main subject in this photo. I think that by having all of these things mentioned about this photo allows this photo to be an interesting photo to look at as opposed to a photo with not a lot to look at in the photo.
