Daniel_School and Sky

I took this photo at our school parking lot, I like the sky on the top of the photo, the light in the sky looks really good, and it adds more depth in this photo, as you can see, the top of this photo only has the sky, but in the bottom of the photo, it has school, wall, window and lots of things, for me it was really good, this photo has no focus but still you can see lots of detail in this photo, like the details at school, I also like the blue sky in the cloud, it also adds more depth, the angle in this photo for me looks really good too, especially the school building, it looks really good for me.

Alford_trees

I took this photo with my D40. I thought that the green leaves on the trees looked really nice. Especially with the sun. I was on a high floor in the school when I took this. Because I knew if I took this on a non-elevated floor in the school it wouldn't come out as good. It wasn't that hard to get nothing distracting in the photo since it was so high up. I thought that having the photo partly blurry made it look good. So I stuck with it.

jonny_shoes( make up)

I took this photo with my two friends the week before. We just stand together to make our shoes together and also the shiny part of the shoes makes the light to be reflected. And that is the most important part that i would like to describe about. Those little items on the shoes showed that those three shoes looks like the famous shoes and also i really like the shadow which is in the middle of the ground

jonny_ harvard square (make up)

I took this photo when i went to Harvard last weekend. I used my camera to take this view and also i used the flash light in order to get the light from the left side. I make the camera to be a little bit lower than the normal level in order to get the light from the left to come in my photo. And the buildings from behind makes the photo to be more colorful. And also the trees in the photo. I also want to get some more details of those benches but the light was too mucho that can't get more details of that.

jonny _fantastic cherry(make up)

I took this photo when i had it yesterday. And that taste pretty good. So i used my camera to shoot this. The plate gives cherry a little bit white light from the bottom of this whole food. And the red color of cherry makes our eyes a little bit shiny. And the background had a little bit yellow light so that make the whole photo to be more yellow color. And also the table reflects a little bit light on the food and make that light to go through our sights. So that sone of the good photo that i have ever shot.

jonny_future house(make up)

I took this photo when i went to my friend's house to see my next year's house. And i think that house is pretty good looking from the back. So, i used my camera to shoot this house to get a good view of it. And the light from the right make this photo to be a little bit brighter. And also the stuff that is pacing in the backyard makes the whole place to be good looking. But i think the most good part of this photo is that little chair in the middle of the photo. that caught my attention

jonny_ mother's day(make up)

I took this photo when i was in China when i went back during spring break. I used my camera to get the detail of our face. And i also use photoshop to get rid of some details from our face. I used the face view function to take photo of us. And i did;t get rid of the background to make the photo to be pretty because i think that is necessary for this photo.

Eric_Shelter of Birds(make up)

This is a lovely bird shelter. This photo takes me a while to make composition and processing. I really like it because it looks like a real house, but the position of it is not good, which just in fornt of the wall. I used my tripod to hold my camera in a really low position in order to get the best angle and composition. As you can see I make half of the background filled with trees, which will fit the theme of this photo: nature. I add some color contrast and vignette intentionally during the post processing in order to get a better "feeling" on this photo.

Eric_Pinwheel(make up)

I took this photo at the backyard of my house. It's a rotating metal pinwheel, and the bright color of it makes me want to take a photo of it. As you can see the blades part is blurry because I used a little bit longer exposure time and very small aperture setting. I really want to highlight the color of this pinwheel, so I did some postprocessing, I added the color contrast and make the background sky grey. I also cut out some parts of distraction to make this photo pure.

Cahines_ keys

I took this photo not too long ago in school during the middle of the day. My favorite thing about this photo is the focus and how it is kind of a gradient affect. the words on the front keys are in good focus and then it slowly fades back. I like how there is some over exposer in the back keys which is what puts them slowly out of focus. I also like how even though this is kind of a black and white photo the colors don't look too bland to me. The different amount of light in different parts of the photo is what makes the overall color less dull.

Alford_BBQ chicken

I took this photo with my Nikon D40. The lighting wasn't that hard to perfect. It was light in the room so I didn't even have to put the flash on. I thought that the sauce on the chicken made it look shiny and nice. The focus on the other hand was not easy to do. My camera's focus kept randomly changing. I had to zoom out a little bit and put the camera on auto focus. Then it zoomed in automatically and it ended up working up.

Horse_Julianna

I took this photo of my cousins' horse when I went over to her house. I like this photo because of the symmetry. The horse is in the center of the photo. This makes easy for the viewer to see the main focal point of the photo. I also like how I was able to capture the different textures on the horses nose and fur. I like how you can see all the little wrinkles on the horses nose. I also like how you can see the little tufts of fur on the top of the horses head. I wish the horse was not wearing the mask it has on in the photo so I could have captured more details in the eyes, but we could not take the mask off because it helps protect the horse from bugs. I also like how I was able to capture all the wood patterns and textures throughout the photo, I think these details give the photo more of a rustic feel.

Daniel_Bottle

I took this photo this week at our school, I put the water bottle near the window and found out it looks really good, so I took like 10 shots and finally choose this one, as you can see I focus on the bottle of the water and makes the ground looks blurry, which I think it adds more depth in this photo, out side of the window was the tree, which for the background was really good, if you looks closely you can see the clouds on the sky, the focus on the bottle which can allow me see more details about the bottle, and there is no distracting for me in these photo, so I think it should be a good photo.

ParkerY_Misc

I took this picture when walking outside with the sunlight is is not direct but bright enough to take a picture without using flash. The reason why I like this picture was because of how the crack in the tree becomes narrower the farther it goes up the tree and becomes wider at the base of the tree as then transfers more outward with a similar color with the ground. Another thing that I like about the tree having three different colors with each having similar colors, the outer bark, the second layer of bark and the interior of the tree.

Daniel_Tree(5/15 make up)

Last week, I took this photo at my house, as you can see I focus on the middle of the tree, the reason I do that is the light were come out from that direction, the light pass through the tree and come out, looks really good, so I choose to focus on the middle of the tree, the blurry tree on the right for me was good, it adds more depth on this photo, as I focus on the tree, you can also see lots of details on the tree leaves, which was good. the background in this photo it was ok, I like how the top of the photo were just tree leaves and sky, but bottom of the photo were lots of stuff in there, which for me I think was really good.

Adidas Grace M.

I took this photo on Sunday because I got a new pair of shoes and I thought the lighting was good where I was because the car was blocking some of the sunlight and it created shadows and texture on the box and the shoe itself. At first I took a photo at an angle from up above looking down on it but then I thought it was such a typical angle to take it from so instead I took this.

ParkerY_Misc

I took this photo when I was going to the beaches of Cape Cod, at any area called Maritime academy. The few things that I like about the photo is the symmetry in photo, on one side there's the water and the other side of the photo is the sand. Another thing that I like about the photo is the shadows in the photo, it creates more drama and adds to the photo. I also like that that there are highlights on different places of the photo and adds details to the photo. One thing that I wish I could change about the photo is the white water in the water and the highlights in the sand.

White Flowers_Julianna

I took this photo of a bunch of white flowers that were growing on a tree in my neighborhood. I like this photo because of the depth of field. The shallow depth of field causes the photo to have a different perspective. Some of the tiny flowers are in focus while others are not, I think this adds a cool effect to the photo. I also like how the whites, yellows, and greens all blend nicely with one another. The colors in the photo are not overwhelming and vibrant, they are subtle. I also like how I was able to capture the different textures in the leaves and flowers. I think the textures add more of a liveliness and natural look to the photo. If I could change one thing about the photo I would be not to have cut off the flowers on the left side. I think that is a bit distracting.
I took this photo on the floor obviously. The lighting was facing the swish part of the mini basketball and there were a few windows behind the mini basketball in the other room which you can see on the wall and a little on the floor. So while having the face of the basketball be visible and bright, there is background light too.

Alford_rings

I took this photo with my Nikon D40. It was my parents anniversary yesterday. So I asked my mom to  put her hand on top of my dad's hand. Their hands with their rings on them (obviously). The first photo I took was to dark. I had to turn the flash on. The flash glowing off of the rings gave the photo a good touch. I also didn't want anything distracting in the background that's why I wanted to take the photo on top of a table.

Daniel_Rain

I took this photo on last week, I focus on the rain, which I think it adds more depth on this photo, the light for me which was good, I change the sky light because the original light was way too bright, so I change and make sure the light were balanced, as you can see the photo was cut into two areas, on the bottom of the photo were cars, street and house, but on the top of the photo were only sky, which I think it was really cool because it adds more depth on this photo, the rain on the glasses for me were adds more depth too, as you can see the rain gets more in focus on the right side of the photo, which I think was really god, the only thing I like to change was the bottom of the right, the tree was kind of distracting, if I get rid of that, it would look better.

Cahines_red flowers

I took this photo in the library. I chose to post this one because it kind of reminded me of mother's day. I really like the focus of the photo. I also like the snow in the background and how it makes the red of the flowers appear more vibrant. Personally I also like how the flowers are kind of dying I think it makes them look more interesting and have crisper details.

ParkerY_Misc

I took this photo when walking around cape cod. The reason why I like this picture is because of the symmetry in the picture and the contrast of the the metal bridge and the light sky along with the dark blue water. Another thing that I like about the the photo is that how the water in the fore ground is all crisp and clear, and then the the background is less clear and faded out more.

Eric_Summer

I took this photo when I rode my bike back home from a bike trip, and I noticed these blooming flowers, which are the best sign of Summer. These purple flowers are on the mound by the roadside, I held my camera very close to those flowers in order to get a shallow lens field because I really like how the still life photo looks when the foreground and background both blurry, so that the main object on the photo will be highlighted with out too many distractions, and the blurry part will still gives enough information of where or when the photo was taken.

Alford_Sister and dog

I took this photo with my nikon D40. I saw my sister next to my dog. I told her to pick him up for a picture. I saw that it was a sunny day outside. I thought that the glare of the sun on my dog's hair would look nice. My dog kept squirming in my sister's hands. It took a while to get him to stay still long enough to take a photo. I had to put my camera on the setting where it cancels out the light. Because the picture would have been to bright. Once I did that and adjusted the zoom it came out to this.

Julianna_Water reflection

I took this photo of a reflection of some trees and the sky that was in a puddle I found while walking around my neighborhood. I like this photo because of the details the viewer is able to see even though it is a reflection. You can see the different shapes of the clouds and the different shades of green that are in the trees. I think these details are what make the photo great. I also like how I was able to capture this photo in a wide depth of field. The wide depth of field allows the viewer to see the different details in the photo and not focus on one main point in the photo.

grace m. dog

I took this photo on Sunday while I was having dinner. I held a green bean up to the camera so that I could get the dog's attention and it kind of worked. Originally I wanted to make the dog's face in the middle and so it looked like a puff ball in the center and so you could only see the dogs face but it didn't end up like that. Instead of that, the dog's body was part of the picture but after seeing it, I didn't mind it because it made the dog's head bigger and look more circular and puffy.  Another thing about this picture is that there are a lot of colors in this photo. For instance there is white brown on the dog and then there are different lightings on the dog like the blue from outside and a tinted yellow/ orange from the lighting from the ceiling. Along with those colors, there are the colors on the ground. Part of the photo that I don't like that much is the table.

jonny_happy mother's day

I took this photo when i was back to China during spring break. I was shot with my mom before i went to the airport. And my father used his phone to take this photo. And the position of his phone was at a very high level in order to get the enough view of both of us. That background gave me a little bit view of what i think at that time. And i also think the detail of both of us face make us to be very specific mood. And what i want to say about this photo is that i want to make the photo to be more active  if i photoshop it.

Alex_Swan in the Boston Public Gardens

I took this photo yesterday when I went into Boston for the morning and early afternoon yesterday. I took many photographs of flowers, trees, and animals, birds. I thought that this photo was by far one of my favorite photos I took when I was in the Boston Public Garden. I like this photo for many reasons. First thing I like about this photo is that the Swan is in perfect focus because it allows you to see age texture of the swan's feathers and fur on his face, neck, and wings. I also like how his white fur isn't all one color and his neck is slightly covered with dirt because it makes a nice contrast with his clean white wings and feather on the rest of his body. I also like how his orange beak stands out the most in this photo because of it vibrance in color. This allows you to focus on the swan rather than the other objects in the middle ground and background. I also like how the depth of field in this photo is mostly wide around the swan and the barriers around the pond in the garden. I also like how well you can see the dampness of the swan's face and neck which is covered with water because it adds more texture and detail to this photo. I also like how the tip of his beak has a dripping water droplet about to drip off his face because it makes this photo interesting to look at. I also like how the shape of his wings are because they look sharp and have edged shapes to them which make the photo have more detail to it. I also like how the lighting in this photo is not too harsh because it keeps the colors of the swan and the pond to be balanced and not distorted from its color. I also like how the swan's neck has a sort of fabric like- texture on his fur because it adds more texture to this photo. I also like how the swan that is slightly moving is making the water have rings and ripples because it adds more detail and patterns to this photo which makes this photo cool to look at. I also like how smooth the quality of this photo came out because it allows you to see all the details of the swan and the pond as well. I also like how contrasty the water is because with the overcast skies adds multi shades of color reflected on the water, makes this photo have more depth and makes the photo more interesting to look at. I also like how the water has different patterns as the gentle wind is blowing the water across gently. This adds more detail to this photo which is nice. I also like how some of the flower petals are on the stone barriers along the pond because it adds more variety to this photo and some of the white petals that have fallen on the rocks complement the white feathers and fur of the swan. I also like how I unintentionally cut off the back of the swan's tail because it allows your eyes to look at the swan from a different perspective and it keeps your eyes from being distracted which could be in the background on the right frame of the photo. I also like how the feeling of this photo is sort of a candid nature photo because it allows you to see the swan doing his/her own thing along the pleasant pond in the Boston Public Gardens. I wouldn't change anything in this photo because you can't really see far back in the background because of the way how I positioned the camera. I took this photo on my Nikon D3200 without flash, using auto adjustment settings, auto iso settings, auto focus adjustments, and using natural lighting. I also used my zoom lens to pull in the focus of the swan to magnify his size.

Teddy_Red Flower

I took this photo yesterday when I was in Boston for the day using my Nikon D3200. I took this photo when I was walking around the Boston Public Garden and was taking tons of photos. Of the dozens of photos that I took, I thought that this one was the best of the lot for a number of reasons. The first thing that I really like about this photo in particular was the lighting, the lighting is just right and it isn't harsh in any spots at all which helps maintain the quality to the photo for the viewer. Another thing that I also like about this photo is the contrast because it is just right and it isn't off at all to reduce the strength of the photo. Another thing that I also like about this photo is the texture in this photo, I think that there is an excellent amount of texture in this photo, and that you can see a lot of it in this photo as clear as possible. Another thing that I also like about this photo is the focal range in this photo because the focus is strictly on the red flower and the background is out of focus to allow the viewer to have the fullest attention on the flower as the main subject in this photo. Another thing that I also like about this photo is the detail in this photo, you can see a ton of detail in this photo such as the patterns and lines on the petals of the flower, the hundreds of water droplets sticking onto the petals of the red flower, and the turning color spots on the flower which present little white spots on different areas of the flower. Another thing that I also like about the water droplets on the flower petals is because it gives the viewer the feeling that it is a wet day outside if it is damp on the plant. Another thing that I also like about this photo is the background because the background isn't distracting that would take away the attention of the main subject in this photo. Another thing that I also like about this photo is the color options in this photo, which are yellows, reds, purples, pinks, greens, browns, and whites. I think that without having these options for colors in this photo, the photo wouldn't be as interesting of a photo as it is as opposed to a photo that doesn't have that much of a variety of color options in one photo to allow a chromatic scheme of colors. To capture this photo I used all natural lighting and no additional flash was needed to capture this spectacular photo. I think that by having all of these things in this photo it makes this photo a very interesting photo to the viewer, I think that without all of this in this one photo, it wouldn't be as interesting of a photo as it is. If I were to retake this photo I wouldn't change anything about it.

Odisi_Parentals

I took this photo on my cell phone today while we were paddle boating. I took this photo because I want my alarm clock and I figured kissing up by taking a cute photo  of them would help my case. This is a photo because there is ripples in the water as well as the trees in the back. Also this is just a nice photo and I do not know what else to say so yeah happy mothers day

Parker_Misc

I took this picture when I was walking around Boston. This location where I took the picture was near a highway. The reason why I like this picture is that the three different color groups with the blues in the sky, the dark greens in the trees and the light greens in the grass. How the picture is positioned vertically adds to the photo and I adds more depth as well.

Eric_Lucky Cat

This object is called lucky cat, which comes from Japan. Lucky cat's golden color gives eyes a attraction, and the reflection makes the rest part of this photo rich in content. Its usually be put on the desk of the lobby like this one, so that everyone went through will see it, it's shaking hand for wealth and happiness income. I noticed that the cat with the reflection background gives a really good looking with composition, and I took this photo.

grace m boston 2

This is another photo that was taken in Boston. I made the photo black and white because this way I personally think it looks like an older photo taken in some kind of village type place. It also highlights the photo's color contrasts from darker to lighter.

Inside a flower_Julianna

I took this photo of the inside of one of the flowers growing in a flower bush in my front yard. I like this photo because of the shallow depth of field. The depth of field allows the viewer to focus on the details on the inside of the flower, and it also allows the viewer to know what the main focal point of the photo is. I also like the lighting in the photo. The lighting does not overexpose any parts of the photo and is subtle. It allows the viewers to see different details in the photo without any getting washed out. I also like how I was able to capture the different shades of pink in the flower. The different shades make the photo pop.

Daniel_Spring

I took this photo with my COOLPIX L330, I took this photo when I was walk around the school, the reason why I choose this photo is that I focus on the orange flower and for me first it adds more depth and second it can let me see more details on the photo, this photo also means that spring is coming and new life are born, I also like how the background was blurred, it adds more depth too, the light and shadow in this photo was really good for me, because of the good timing and that day was in the afternoon, so the shadow and the light were look prefect for me that time. The things that I want to change is that I may want to make the flowers are in the middle of the photo, because as you can see, they are a little bit in the top of the photo, which sometimes can not let me look straight to them.

Alex_Water Droplets

I took this photo a while ago when we had to do our last 3rd quarter photo assignment. I took many photographs and submitted 8, and this was one of my favorite photos I took from the assignment. I took this photo in the bio lab on the fourth floor. I like this photo for many reasons. First thing I like about this photo is that the lighting in this photo is very dim because it makes the feeling of this photo to be very calm and smooth. I also like how the depth of field and depth of focus is shallow because it keeps your eyes concentrated on the water droplets which are the main subject points of this photo. I also like how the light is shining through the water droplets because it creates a glowing effect on the droplets. This makes this photo look more interesting because it draws in more light into the photo. I also like the different shapes in this photo because the shapes of the water droplets aren't all uniform in shape but instead a wide variety of different shaped water droplets, which makes the photo look more interesting to look at. I also like how the left and right frames on the window glass is dark while the middle section of the photo is brighter lit than the rest of the window. I also like how shiny the water droplets are because it refracts the shape of the natural lighting of the overcast skies on the window. I also like how dim light contrasts with the medium lit light, because it makes the perspective of the photo more interesting to look at. I also like how the texture of the water droplets are because they have a sort of lined and wispy-like texture as the water droplets are falling down the window glass. I also like how the water droplets are also in different sizes because it makes the photo have more variety to it. I also like how low the exposure is because it narrows down the amount of color and detail to it as well. I also like how there is a long trail of a dripping water droplet falling down to the bottom of the window because it draws your eyes into the photo and observe the interesting details of the many water droplets on the window. I also like how the middle part of the photo is the brightest lit portion of the photo because it draws your eyes towards the middle of the photo where the water droplets have different shapes and textures to them, and also where the depth of field is focused the most. I think with having the exposure speed to be lower makes the feeling of this photo to be relaxed and pleasant because it takes away intensities around the photo. Also water droplets in dimmer lit resemble the gentleness of water falling down on glass. I think with having the focus to be shallow and the dim light removes most of the distracting objects around the photo. I took this photo on my Nikon D3200 without flash, using slower iso speeds and lower exposure settings, using natural lighting from the window, and using auto focus settings.

Teddy_Mr. Bumble from Oliver!

I took this photo when I went to see the spring musical "Oliver!" on Friday night using my Nikon D3200. I took over a hundred photos at the play and thought that this one was among the best of all the photos that I took. I liked this one in particular because of many reasons. I used all stage lighting to capture this photo with no additional flash. The first thing that I liked about this photo was the background, I like how the background is all dark and nothing to show in the background, this allows the main subject to be the focus for this photo. Another thing that I also like about this photo is that the main subject is practically completely in focus to allow the most amount of detail and texture in the photo. Another thing that I also like about this photo is that there isn't anything distracting in the photo to take away the attention of Nick as Mr. Bumble in the photo. Another thing that I also like about this photo is the lighting in the photo, the lighting isn't too harsh or too exposed that would weaken the quality of the photo itself. I think that having this amount of light in this photo is just the right amount. Another thing that I also like about the lighting is that I was able to capture the right lighting in this photo because depending on the camera the lens sometimes doesn't pick up the natural lighting and coloring because of the spotlights and stage lighting to get the right skin tone colors. This photo however was able to capture the precise skin tone from the spotlight and stage lighting that it made the photo just right as opposed to a photo that had washed out colors that were inaccurate to the actual colors. Another thing that I also like about this photo is the colors in this photo such as reds, golds, blacks, tans, blues, browns, yellows, and whites. I think that by having these options for colors in this photo that it enables it to have a better selection and variety for the photo. Another thing that I also like about this photo is from the stage light reflecting on Nick created a shadow of his hand holding the staff on his coat as well as a shadow of the corner of his hat on the side of his face closest to the view of the lens in this photo. I think that by having the shadows in this photo allows an extra touch to the photo which enables it to have more quality to the photo. I think that by having all of these things in the photo that it makes this photo a very interesting photo to look at.

Odisi_Dog

I took this photo yesterday. I was trying to do the advertising assignment for the five dollar item or less when my dog decided to get a closer view of that I was doing. I like this photo because I love my dog and because all the other colors on the photo are really bland and not really bright but then the painting my brother did has really bright blues and greens and personally I think it looks great.
I took this picture with my Nikon D40. I saw this when I was walking around the school to take photos. I saw the rain on the glass and thought that it would make a nice photo. I wanted to get a car in the photo to give it a nice touch. I wanted to get the wet ground in the photo. I didn't want to get the sky in the photo. It wasn't really a nice day out, and I didn't think it would be a good touch to the photo. The lighting was hard. I put on the flash at first but the glare was to strong. I had to change the settings several times to get a good photo.
