Cahines_greens

My favorite thing about this photo is the greens, hence the title. This photo is kind of different from my usual types of photos that I take because there isn't anything in particular in focus. It's a lot more zoomed out then most of my pictures. I also really like how there are detentions with the red leaves in the front.

EricHe_Red

This photo was taken outside of our school. When I was trying to find something intersting to shoot, I noticed that the red color of the tree is really bright, just like the nation flag nearby, but I need to do something to highlight the concert between them. So I took this photo and decrease the saturation of other colors except red. Then the photo shows a really good imagery.

ParkerY_Misc

I took this picture at the pool during my swim meet. I like this picture because how the light from the  reflects off the pool water and offer a similar picture of the windows. I also like the angle of how the picture was taken and how it gives the picture more depth.

AlexBrown_Statues

I decided to use this photo for this week's post. I took this photo a few weeks ago over Thanksgiving break. I saw this cool statue with sculptures of people and turtles. I like the variety color in this photo because it makes this photo very appealing. I like the lighting in this photo because it isn't overexposed, and it shows all of the details of the marble and granite sculptures. I also like the shadows in this photo because it adds depth to this photo. I also like the contrast between the orange leaves in the background and the yellowish leaves because it adds variety to this photo. I also like this photo because of the aged marble and stone statues and fountain because it adds a nice pattern to this photo. I am fascinated by the creativity of old art and I think it is interesting to look at. I took this on my Nikon D3200 without flash, natural lighting, and auto adjustments.

Light_Julianna

I took this photo while I was out at a Christmas light showing. The light showing was on church grounds and they had a small shed were people could light candles to remember loved ones who have pasted away. I like this photo because of the little details I was able to capture in the candle and the jar it was in. I also like how the flame is different colors, you can see white and bits of blue on the wick. The textures in the photo are also really nice. I like how the smoothness of the jar contrasts with the bubbly melted wax.

Teddy_Christmas in Disney photo

I took this photo when I went to see the annual Christmas Play at school using my Nikon D3200. This years one was Disney themed. I took over a thousand photos during the three days I went to see it. I thought that this one was exceptionally great among the others for many reasons. I really liked that when I took this photo I grabbed the fullest attention towards the subject in the photo which is Kendra. I like how that the background was all blurred out and the only thing that is in focus is her. I think the lighting was great in this photo and her skin tone wasn't exposed or distorted from the spotlight. Another thing that was a key piece to the photo is that her eyes are in focus to capture quality to the photo. There aren't any distracting things that would keep the viewer from focusing on her in the photo which is good. Another thing that is great about this photo is the lights and bows in the background are all aiming towards her to bring the full attention to her as the subject in this photo. Without these factors in the photo it wouldn't be as great of a photo as it is.

Daniel_Cat EAR Headphone

This week, on Monday, my cat ear headphone finally arrived, I was really excited and immediately took this photo with my computer, this headphone was really awesome, it has two "cat ear" which can be the audio to make the sound out, so when you listen to your music and you want to share with somebody, you can just press a button and the sound is gonna come out from the "cat ear", I love this design, it also has the light, which looks really cool, about the photo that I took, I focus on the headphone and turn the background into the same color as the headphone, which I think it looks really cool, I turn off all the light in my room so that the light on the headphone and computer looks more bright.

Alford_ sun and shade

I took this with my Nikon 40. I took this at the door close to the auditorium. I wanted to get part of the picture with sun and part of the picture in the shade. I wanted to be able to see the top of  one part of the school and a good portion of the building to the left. I was trying to get a reflection on the windows on the left side of the building also.

Cahines_livi

I took this picture a few days ago at night time. Lucky for me I was able to make my cat stay still for a minute. I'm really happy that her eyes came out in good focus and that she's looking at the camera. The one thing I was kind of upset about is the little bit of over exposer on the floor in the middle. Other then that I'm pretty satisfied with this photo.

ParkerY_Misc

I took this picture when doing service hours on taking portraits for people. I cropped both sides that were blurry and thought it took away from the picture. I like how the skin of the person is contrasting with the hair extremely.

Odisi_Set

This is the set for the Christmas show. I took this photo at Marian after rehearsal. I took it because I really like the set, I think it looks nice especially because of the Mickey wreath. Also the set is not painted, instead it is wallpaper so it looks very realistic as far as sets go.

Daniel_Forest

I took this photo from our homework 11.30 photo, I took this photo at the backyard of my house, I like this photo and do some adding on this photo, the original have the focus in the middle of the tree, but I decided to add more focus, because I want to show that the light comes out from the back of the tree, the other reason I like it was the color, this photo has lots of color, it looks really great, the direction of the tree's shadow looks good too, by the way, I have to say that this just one of my random taking photo, I didn't plan to take a photo like this, guess just the good timing and good site let me took this beautiful photo.

Cathedral_Julianna

I took this photo of one of the stain glass windows I saw in St.Patricks Cathedral, while I was in New York over the weekend. I like this photo because of all the different textures. The Stone walls are carved with many details which add a lot of depth to the photo. I also like the colors I was able to capture in the glass. All the different colors really draw the photo together nicely. The only things I wish I could change are how the window is cut off at the top. I wish I had captured the whole window, but there was other work on the ceiling. I also don't like the shadow in the  bottom center of the photo. I do not know what caused that, but once you see it thats all your eyes go to.

EricHe_Green in the fall

I took this picture outside of our school, the sun was shiny and there is no cloud at all. The orange leaves fall on the green grass which shows a nice contrast. The national flag and sun fill the pure blue sky and made the composition of this photo not boring.

Odisi_DuckHat

This is a photo of my brother. He's going though a phase where he needs to have his Donnald Duck hat on all the time. I like this photo because I think the contrast between his skin color and everything else is really nice. I also like that I can see the freckles on his cheeks very well.

Daniel_Leaves

I took this photo with my Nikon Coolpix L330, this photo was took from my back yard, I took almost 10 of these kind photo and decided to choose this photo, the details on this photo was really great, which can let me see the leaves clearly on the photo, I focus on the leaves which makes the background looks better, the timing was really great too, when I was took this photo during the afternoon, the sunlight came out with a prefect direction.

Alford_Christmas tree

I took this with my canon 5D. It is my family's tradition to decorate the christmas tree the day after ThanksGiving. We have a lot of ornaments so I thought it would make a nice picture. I wanted to get the stockings in the picture also. I also wanted to get the women on top of the tree. I had to bump up the sensitivity of my camera to get good lighting, or else it would have been to dark.

AlexBrown_Victorian Marble Fountain

I took this photo when I was away for Thanksgiving this week. I decided to choose this photo for this week's post because I think this was an interesting photo. I saw this old marble fountain while I was exploring around some of the old Newport Mansions. I thought this fountain had some interesting carvings around the base of the fountain so I decided to take a photo of the little people on the fountain. I like this photo because it shows a few different emotions in this particular photo, one is fear, the second is curiosity, and the third is happiness. I think with the babies with different facial expressions makes this an interesting story. I think the artist who made this fountain was trying to set a tone for the people who would observe the fountain, which is important when it comes to art. I think it is interesting that the babies left and right of the gargoyle or mask they are holding makes this photo have good action. I like the lighting of this photo because it isn't too overexposed and it is well focused. I like that the framing I chose for this photo is in complete focus because it allows you to focus on the detail of the fountain carvings that are three dimensional and the relief is pretty high. I also like the aging mold that is growing on the marble because it adds a balance of color between whites, gray and tannish mold. I also think the lighting is the most important part of this photo because the subjects are well lit which makes this photo very interesting. The only thing I wish I could change in this photo would have been to not have a little bit of negative space on the right end of the photo because you can see a little bit of the ground and the landscape around the fountain. I took this on my Nikon D3200 with natural lighting, without flash, and using the auto focus setting.

Teddy_The Elms Mansion

I took this photo with my Nikon D3200 when I was in Newport, Rhode Island for Thanksgiving. I took several dozens of photos when I was looking for places to take photos at the  Elms Mansion in Newport. I thought this was one of the coolest photos that I captured while I was exploring the backside of The Elms Mansion. I like the lighting in this photo because it is reflected in more than four places in this photo, which allows it to have more depth in this photo. I like how the light is reflected on the corners of the needles of the tree which makes it look like it has sparkles or glitter on the tree. I also like how the light is casting from the corner of the mansion allowing a sunbeam ray towards the aperture of the camera, which creates an interesting look to the photo. I like how in the bottom of the photo the red leaved trees are also being reflected from the light which brightens the colors of the reds and oranges of the autumn colored leaves in the photo. I also like how the light casts onto the side sculpture on the corner of the mansion on the side of the first floor wall, with the light casting on the head allows another interesting element to the photo. And lastly I like how through the light is reflected through the second floor window with the reflection of the blue from the sky is clearly mirrored from the window preventing anything from inside the window to be seen in the photo. I think without all these light source elements in this photo it would lose its strength in the photo, limiting the quality and content of this photo. I also think that the different colors in this photo such as greens, blues, reds, oranges, grays, whites, and blacks all in one photo allow it to be more vibrant and lively to the viewer. Without all these things this photo wouldn't be the same and it wouldn't be as interesting as it is of a photo.

Odisi_1-10

For the 1-10 assignment I did different people's version of anger from 1-10. These are my favorites because on my brother's face you can see things in very detailed and the background is a bit blurred, and I think Mr. Peterson made the best face out of all of the photos I took throughout that week.

Cahines_1 to 10

These two photos are my best ones out of my 1 to 10 photos in my opinion because they are the most practical. These are some of the only one that I took that have am actual number on them. These were my number 5 and number 7 photos obviously. My favorite is probably the first one with the 5 because it has good focus. There are some good colors and I also like how I was able to blur out the door.

Eric_1to10

The theme of my "1 to 10" is ten parts of my way from school to home. The best two of them is No.8 and No.10, one is close to my home and another one is the backyard. I'v posted the backyard one before, but it's a part of my theme so I post it again. More about No.8. It's not usual to see a ownerless bike lay on the ground on my way back home. Why there is nobody around but only a bike casually laid there? It interested me, so I squatted and took this as my No.8 photo. I will say the opinion and thought of this photo is more than the picture itself. I can have more imagination about the No.8, but not No.10.

ParkerY_one to ten best two pictures

I took these two pictures in the parking lot at Marian high. I like these two pictures because how both are framed and how everything but the subject of the picture is not in complete focus. I also like how the first photo's red color contract with everything else in the picture. Things that I wish I could change would be to have the yellow line in the first and second picture not to be there and that red trash can and red bench to be there in the second picture.

Alford_leaves and trees

These two pictures were taken with my nikon 40.  I thought taken 10 pictures of leaves falling off the trees in my backyard. I chose to post one picture of the bare trees and one picture of all the leaves on the ground. I made sure that their were not to many shadows that made the picture look bad. For the  picture with a lot of leaves I tried to get as many leaves as I can in the picture without showing the house in the background. For the tree picture I tried to get a lot of trees in the background.

gracem 1 to 10

I liked my photo 9 and my photo 10 the best. I come across the 9 liters everyday and didn't realize it until i was looking for something to take up my number 9 and i also like the left is more focused and the water drops. My other favorite one is the 10 dollar bill which has texture and I like the way its cropped. Everything is kind of busy but then the 10 stands out. Along with texture I like the color because it looks old and you can see the detail you may also overlook on a daily basis.

Daniel_1 to 10 Best Photo

I took this two photo with my Nikon Coolpix L330, the reason why I choose this two photo is that the first one I was took at home, I was actually random shoot the photo at my home and then I got this one, I like the focus on the yellow bottle. Which I can see the detail on the bottle, and the tree on the back was really nice, this photo probably one of the best photo when I took at my home. The second one was took when I got from school, I saw the statuary outside the school, that was a good timing because the sun light was really on a good spot, so I took this photo and change some effect when I got home, I change the focus and put it on the statuary, which when the people first see this photo, they can look straight to the statuary.

1-10 Best Photos_Julianna

I took this photo of the piano in the auditorium. I like this photo because of the details you can see in each key. I also like in because of the depth of field. It slowly gets more and more out of focus after each key. I only thing I wish I could change in the over exposer on the first key because it is very distracting.
I took this photo of some acorns I found on my street. I decided to collect ten of them, place them on some leaves, and take a photo of them. I like this photo because of how I was able to capture the different textures of the acorns and how some contrast each other in color. Some of the acorns are smooth while some have some rough edges.

1 to 10 two best photos_jonny

I took this two pictures when i was looking from my bedroom to see if there are some sightseeing can make me feel like i'm having beautiful scene of the nature. And now, i think one of these two pictures is that one with two beds can make me feel like i'm living in a girl's room. So, now i just want to say, if i take that one more time.I will feel better about the position.

Teddy_1to10 2 Best Photos

I took this photo in New Hampshire of my Aunt's dog Otto using my Nikon D3200. I used this as the first photo in the 1to10 project. The reason why I really liked this photo is because of the detail that is shown in this photo. I think the most important part of this photo is that the eyes of the dog are in focus. I also like how pretty much the entire dog is in complete focus, which allows the subject to be viewed in total focus without anything in the way of distracting the viewer from seeing the dog as the subject. I also like that the background is blurred out to also give the attention to Otto.  I think the lighting is great in this photo, which allows the subject to have enough attention to be seen clearly in this photo. I used all natural lighting, both sunlight and a lamp light that was in the living room, which is reflected on the right side of Otto's face, and the sunlight coming from the left. The only thing I wish I could have changed in this photo would have been to not have had one of my family member's feet in the background of the photo.

I also took this photo in New Hampshire last weekend while I was visiting my grandparents. I used this as my number two for my 1to10 project while capturing it with my Nikon D3200. I liked this photo for many reasons. I liked how the ceramic birds are in focus to allow the full attention to the viewer on the subject.  I also thought the natural lighting in this photo was reflecting in this photo on the sides of the ceramic birds, I think that without it, it would lose it's strength in the photo. I like how the light is coming on the left of the birds and how it is beaming on the left side of the photo on the wall, which casts a shadow from the molding on the wall allowing a second dimension to the photo. I like that the lamp on the left also as a light reflection which allows another great source for the sunlight that is casting through in this photo. I also think with the many options of colors in this photo, it allows the viewer a better perspective on the photo, rather than having a photo that has only a few colors in it. The only thing I wish I could have changed in this photo would have been to have not gotten part of the arm of the couch in the bottom right corner of the photo, to avoid any possible distractions, other than that I think it was an interesting photo that I captured.

AlexBrown_1to10 2 best photos

I decided to choose these photos as my other two best photos I took for the 1 to 10 assignment project. I liked the top photo because of the shallow depth of field, the lighting, and the focus. I like that Teddy's hand is the only thing that is in complete focus and the rest is blurred out. I also think it was good that his hand wasn't cut off from the photo because it doesn't take away the quality of the photo. I also thought this was a good 5 photo because 5 fingers are in clear focus and popping out in the photo towards the front of the photo. I also think the lighting was important because with a little bit of overexposure it washes out and blurs most of the distractions in the background of the photo. The part of the photo above that really catches my eye is his face which isn't in very crisp focus at all which draws your eyes into the photo the most. I think with Teddy wearing a ring on his hand it brings in a lot of bright gold-ish and a little bit of blue light, grabs your attention into this photo. I think if he was in complete focus you'd see more of the busy background clearer which would distract the viewer more. I also like the bottom photo with the 9 shells in the shape of the number 9 because of its two mixture of balanced colors in this photo because it has a good contrast of white over orange-ish yellow in this photo. I decided to put a black book underneath the shells to balance the shells from a distracting tiled floor because I thought adding a black book would smoothen out the essence of the photo a little bit. I like that some of the shells are in clear focus while others aren't in clear focus at all. I cropped almost all of the tiled floors around the shells and the book except for the top of the photo because I thought it would make the photo less distracting to look at. I like that most of the shells are in a uniform color pattern except for about 3 of the 9 shells are a mixture of white and orange. I think with the exception of the 3 non solid orange shells catches your attention to the detail of this photo and try to examine what you can notice in this photo. I wish that part of the white tiled floor on the top of the bottom photo wasn't in this photo because it takes away the smooth black book underneath the shells. I took these photos on my Nikon D3200 without flash and slower shutter speed to get good lighting and color in these photos.

Cahines_fall brown/dead leaves

This photo really seemed like fall to me because of the colors mostly. This photo in my opinion tells a story, parts of the leaves are brownish yellowy colors and the other parts are green. To me the story is summer transitioning into fall, the greens turning into the browns. I especially like how the leaves are in focus. You can even see some raindrops on them.

Odisi_StudyRoomMural

This is a photo I took of the mural in the study/detention room. I really like this mural because it shows almost every part of Marian from 2005 and it still works for today. I think the drawings are very cute. I wish I had some more light on the photo because when I took it I thought it looked fine but now I think it is a little dark and a little more light would have been nice.

EricH_Fall(2)

I took this picture at 4 o' clock afternoon, the sun was falling so the light was from the side but not direct from the top. The light made a nice shadow of every object on the ground. And the bright color of this leave created a good compare with the shadow and I really like it.

ParkerY_Fall

I took this picture that was in front of the school when it was sunny. I like this picture because the red leaves contrast to everything in the background. I also like how the sunlight hits the leaves. I thing that I wish I could change would be getting rid of the telephone wires in front of the tree leaves.

Alford_leaves

I took this with my nikon 40. I have a lot of trees in my yard, so when all the leaves fall off the trees my yard is filled with leaves. I knew that having a lot of leaves in my backyard would make for a good picture. So I tried to position this well so that the glare wasn't to bright or to dark. I wanted to get the most leaves that I could get so that there was not a distracting background.

Fall_Julianna

I took this photo while I was out. I feel this photo really resembles the theme fall. The colors in the leaf and the leaves around it are what I love about the fall. I like all the different colors and textures you can see in this photo. The little grooves and lines in the leaf adds a lot of texture and feel to the photo. The only thing I would like to change is how the whole leaf is not it the photo, but if I put the whole leaf in there would have been many distracting elements in the photo.

Teddy_Rugby Players

I took this photo yesterday with my Nikon D3200 when I was in New Hampshire visiting my grandparents, across the street from their house is Colby-Sawyer College. I took this photo when I watched a little bit of one of the girl's rugby tournaments that was going on this weekend. I like it how when I captured this photo the amount of action that was captured in this shot. I like that almost everyone in this shot is in motion because it creates a stronger touch for the photo. I also like that when I took this photo that everyone is in focus, with it being in focus it grabs the attention to the rugby players running in motion. I like how the light is beaming down from behind them, this allows more light and quality to the photo. I like that the background is blurred out of focus to give the attention on the players.  I used all natural lighting to capture this photo with no addition flash. I think the only thing I would have changed would have been to have not have gotten the person sitting down in the chair on the left side of the photo, as well as gotten the pole positioned differently from where it was in the photo since it looks like it was coming out from the girl in red's head. I think this was one of my better action photos that I have captured.

Daniel_Sky

I took this photo with my Coolpix L330, when I walk out from the school, I saw this beautiful sky, then I took this beautiful picture, the middle of the sky looks like a big open hole, feels like the is the door to the heaven, it looks really good. When I look at this photo, it also let me feel peace and relax, I like this photo a lot.

AlexBrown_Chipmunk

I decided to choose this photo for this week's post because I think this was among one of my many photos I took this weekend. I took this yesterday when I was in New Hampshire for the weekend visiting family. I like this photo out of the many other attempts I tried to photograph of this chipmunk, but this photo turned out to be awesome. I took this in the early afternoon on Saturday in a small tree branch this chipmunk was eating seeds. The chipmunk was very tame and mellow so I decided to move up closer to the branch and take several photographs. I liked this photo because the chipmunk front of his body is in focus and his eyes are in focus which makes this photo important for a nice candid animal nature photo. I like how calm the chipmunk is and he doesn't seem to care whats going on around him and he is just doing his own thing. I like this photo because there is low light, shallow depth of field, balance of color and contrast in this photo because it adds value to this photo. I like the different shades of color the chipmunk has on his body because it makes this photo not dull. I like that the foreground of the photo is in focus because it keeps your eyes focused on the chipmunk and not so much the other things around him. The only thing I wish I could have changed in this photo would have been to not have that branch to the right of the chipmunk because it cuts a little bit of his body off and it also slightly distracts the focus of the chipmunk solely. I took this photo on my Nikon D3200 with natural lighting, auto focus settings, without flash, and using my 55-200x zoom lens.
