Light_Julianna

I took this photo while I was out at a Christmas light showing. The light showing was on church grounds and they had a small shed were people could light candles to remember loved ones who have pasted away. I like this photo because of the little details I was able to capture in the candle and the jar it was in. I also like how the flame is different colors, you can see white and bits of blue on the wick. The textures in the photo are also really nice. I like how the smoothness of the jar contrasts with the bubbly melted wax.

  1. I really like this photo because of many things. Firstly I really like the lighting used in this photo, it isn't harsh and it doesn't distort the photo. I like the colors that are shown in the photo from the light of the candle. I like the light reflection from the candle on the glass, with the yellowish tint of the candle reflection on the edges of the glass candle jar creates a very interesting look to the viewer, and shows the details of the glass on the jar. I also love how from the melted wax in the candle is in a puddle that captures the reflections of the top of the candle jar in the puddle as well as the flame's reflection. Having this creates a great depth to the photo. The only thing I would have changed would have been to have gotten rid of the black things inside the candle jar, and would have taken photo at a different angle because the background seems a bit distracting. Other than that it is a great photo, really well done and keep up the great work!
