Catherine Ning-jiaozi
This is a photo I took this week. In order to finish the assignment "Holidays", I spent the most important festival in China, which is Spring Festival with my dad earlier. During this festival, we Chinese eat a special food called jiaozi. To keep the colors, I make it a little bit raw. Then my dad helped me to get the jiaozi up. He cut it into halves and I took a photo of one of them. However, the jiaozi is not edible any more.

Lara Dias- Sunday post makeup
I took this picture of my Christmas tree after we were finished decorating it. I like how the wall in the back matches with the ornaments and the ribbon on the tree. The image itself could've been more in focus, but I like the slight blur it has in some spots. I also like how the lights aren't too overwhelming or distracting, but rather compliments the silver in the ribbon and reflects off the ornaments.

Kim Stuart- Sunday Post
This is a image that I took of a tapestry, hung up on a wall in my room. I thought it would be a good picture considering all of the different shapes, colors, and patterns that seem to all somehow fit together. I'm really interested in traveling the world one day and visiting countries such as India and China, which is yet another reason why I like this tapestry so much.

Catherine Ning-trees
This is a photo I took in September in a park. The light was shining really brightly and you can even see the white light from the top. However, that makes me want to post the photo. It was early autumn at that time, so some of the trees are not yet turning yellow but some do, and that gives me great colors. Anyway, I don't like the little stain(?) at the bottom, because that looks weird.

"shape" makeup - lara dias
This is the picture I shot for the assignment "shape." This picture was taken in one of the hallways in the stairways. It is of one of the things that hold the doors open. I see a triangle in it, along with a triangular prism. I like how the light is hitting it and how the hallway was well lit. I just wish that the background was better, considering it is kind of dirty and the brick wall behind it isnt the most appealing.
Sunday Misc. Post - Lara Dias
This picture was taken on friday afternoon after school ended. Its a picture I shot of my friends Michaella and Bella. I like how they both have highlights in their eyes, and there is enough light hitting them. One thing I wish was different is the background, because its kind of distracting due to all the different colors and shadows.
Kim Stuart- Makeup Friday Shape Post
The image I took shows 2 circular shaped bowls that are decorated to fit this Christmas Season. This is a table decoration that has glitter-covered pine cones and glitter-covered, wreath-like sticks. I like how the 2 circular shaped bowls compliment under each each each other, especially because it is a larger dish each other a smaller dish.
Kim Stuart- Sunday Post
This is a zoomed in photo of my Christmas tree. There are many different shapes and sizes of ornaments; circular, square, and even in the shape of an old lady. I took this mid-day and liked how the different lights, both red and white, allowed for a different sort of scenery. I liked how the lighting reflects off the tinsel and highlights it in a way. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year.

Catherine Ning-Shape
This is a photo I took in the classroom during class time. I poured my skittle candies on the desk and kneeled on the ground and shot it. I put the lens really close and got a good focus on the red one in the front. I think the picture well represents the topic "Shape" because the skittles have ellipsoid shapes and it reflects on the desk. However, I think I did not shoot really horizontally.

Lara Dias- Portrait Picture
This is a picture of my friend Paul that I took in the 4th floor hallway. What I like about this picture is that the flag in the background matches what he is wearing. I also like how this picture shows ethnic diversity. The light is coming from the right side of the picture, giving the picture lots of shadows, especially in his face and in the folds of the flag. His eyes are visible, but I just wish I caught some highlights in them.
Kim Stuart- Portrait picture
This is a portrait of one of my friends Jordan Bembe. Jordan is of a different ethnicity of me which portrays to the theme I have chosen for this project, under "Marian Diversity." Jordan is one of the many different people who are of a different race than me, at Marian High School, making this school so diverse. I believe I have even recently received an email from Mr. Ermelio stating that this school has received an A for diversity.

Catherine Ning- Portrait 2
This is a photo I shot in the hallway during the class time. I made the girl standing in front of the blurred window which allow some light coming to her face. I like the highlights on her forehead,on the eyes, the cheeks and the lip. However, I suppose the wall is a little ugly, and obviously the white shirt is not the best choice to take portrait.
Catherine Ning- Portrait 1
This is a photo I took in cafeteria a couple of days ago with my canon camera. I put it on the blog because I did think the colors are perfect. Red and white matches and the cup cake i her hands is also awesome. There is also some surprising highlights on the girl's hair which I did not expect it would be. Anyway, I think it s worthy posting.

Kim Stuart- Sunday post
This is a picture of a Chinese Water Dragon I took with my friends camera Sunday morning around noon time. A Canon Rebel T5 is the type of camera my friend has and let me use to take this with. I am fascinated by lizards and found this angle very interesting. The way the light hits the lizard really emphasizes it's scales.

Catherine-Portrait of lara
This is a photo I took a couple of days ago. I set lara in front of the board and we shot photos of each other. Mr.Barry 's board is a perfect place to shoot portraits so that we can focus on the faces. Lara's shirt is kind of dark and her face is bright so I can pay attention to her face. The camera blocked part of lara's face and I got some highlights in her eyes. This is my best portrait I have now, and I suppose the photo is worth posting.

Lara Christina Dias- 11/13/16
This picture was taken of the bed in my room in cancun. This picture is very aesthetically pleasing to me due to the dark tones of the picture and the simplicity of it. The purse at the end of the bed match the rest of the picture which makes it more interesting to look at. I also think that the mess of blankets on the bed add to the image also.
Kim Stuart- Sunday misc. post

This is an image I took, overlooking the Boston Commons from inside a dorm at Emerson College. I toured Emerson and loved it but not just because of the school itself but also the location. Simply from one of the student dorms you can see the State House, the Boston Common baseball field, any event occurring that day, and you are essentially in the center of the city, at Emerson. This was taken around 2 on Saturday, with only the beginning changes of Fall revealing itself.

Catherine ning- Bridge
This is a picture I took in World's End in Hingham.Th sunlight is rally bright and it made a good shadow of the bridge and the trees on the back. You can see the the bright colors of the trees and the sky,and the light came from he left of the bridge so the shadow looks like that. What I dislike is, I should take the photo vertically.
Catherine Ning-the wall
This is a picture I took in the campus. I lean on the fences and shot it. I especially love the complex colors of the brick in the wall, and it seems that the the bricks are moving. The blue color of the window is excellent too.The windows also made a perfect angle towards the front, and there is a triangle on the right on the corner. The only flaw of the photo is there are some distracting cars and a trash bin.

Lara Dias 10/23 misc post makeup
This image was taken on my iPhone on the plane going from Mexico city to cancun on Monday the 24th of October, around 10:30-11 a.m. I really love how crisp the picture is, and the view was really beautiful from the window of the plane. I felt like it was unreal, I wanted to reach out and touch the clouds.
Home vs. School- Lara Dias 2

This is my second image for Home vs. School. The colors in it are very warm which completely contrast the first image I posted. It is also night time in this picture which also contrasts the first image. Even though this image is somewhat different than the first one, they are both still very alike in that they are both taken of windows. The only negative thing about this image is that it doesn't have anything beyond the window except for one dot of light, so it's less interesting than the other image. I also had to take this photo on my iPhone because I left my camera in my locker at school.
Home v.s School- Lara Dias 1
This picture is a picture I took of a window in one of the hallways in the school. I like how crisp the window sill looks. Even though you can still see what is beyond the window, its blurred so it puts more of the focus on the actual window sill. The tones of the image are very cool, which contrasts the second picture I took.
visser
This is a nature photography, and there have many kind of blue. It's very beautiful I think. And the green trees behind the lake makes the photo get feels peaceful.
Kim Stuart- "School vs. home"
These are both pictures looking out of the front doors of either my school or my house. They both include trees to the right of the picture and a road present. Both images portay a fall color scheme. I attempted to capture similar ideas within each picture with a similar atmosphere and similar plants/scenery matching up.

lara dias misc post make up - 10/30
This picture was taken on my iPhone on the plane ride back home from my trip to Cancun last week. It was around 6 p.m. when I took this picture in whatever time zone I was in, it was a couple hours into the flight so I wasn't sure where we were. The fact that we were very high up in the sky caused the land and the sky to meet in the middle of the landscape. The cool tones and the warm tones of the picture blend very well, it being warmer along the top left side of the picture and cooler on the top right. It was a beautiful sight, and I wish I had my camera so I could capture it in better quality.

Kim Stuart- Misc. picture
The picture I chose for this weeks misc. post is a picture of Fall colored leaves on a tree at my cousins house. I liked how it clearly represents the coming of the Fall season and how there are still some green colored leaves that have not yet changed. I took this picture with my Nixon camera in the morning on Saturday. I thought the reds and oranges were especially bold in this picture.

Catherine Ning-Still leaf
This is a photo that I took on the way back to my home. This a a kind of close photo which I like it a lot. I move the leaf to the right a little bit in purpose so that it looks better. The photo was shot on about 2 o'clock, therefore the light is really bright and there is a shadow at the bottom of the photo. You can see the shade of grass on the leaf, which makes the whole picture more interesting.I think this is the most amazing photo that I have ever taken.

Catherine Ning-Leaves
This is a photo that I took on last weekend. I just picked one branch from the nearby tree and raised it to the sky. The leaves have turned to orange or red, and the light is very bright, so it makes some good shadow on the right. I also like the colors of the picture. The leaves are orange, yellow and red, which are warm colors. The background, which is made of varies kinds of blue colors. They are cool colors. As a result, the colors make a perfect comparison.
