sunday makeup 5/28

This is a picture I took outside. Although i'm not exactly sure where I took it, I think it is a good image. I like how the subject is in the center and it is in extreme focus. I also like how the background matches the subject of the photo. I also think the colors on the leaves are really pretty.

Catherine Ning-Sunday Post

This is a shot I took for my "repeat" project. The light was really strong that day and you can tell for the pink color of the flower. The colors look like artificial due to the light. The flower was not facing the camera, so that gives me the opportunity to shoot a object in a different way. I feel like it will be better with a bee or butterfly, but I can't do that because I always scared them.

Sunday Post Makeup- Lara Dias

This is a photo I shot in the Marian parking lot. It is near the back where the busses are on the branch of a tree. I used the macro setting on my camera, which made the depth of field really obvious. I like how green the plants are and how the front branches are in focus with the leaves, in comparison to the background.

Catherine Ning- Sunday Post

This is a picture I took while I was shooting the "repeating photos". I happened to see a bee eating the flowers. However, unfortunately, the light was too strong and the bee was too short to be shot, so the bee is blurry. I was supposed to shot a butterfly, but it fled. I wish I can do a better job in the future.

Catherine Ning-Sunday Post(Make up)

This a shot on a lovely afternoon. The light shone on the flowers nicely and I am glad to see the flowers are focused really well. I took a photo of many random flowers, but I cut it so it looks not very distracting. This might not be as good as last one, but still the best one I have.

Lara Dias- Sunday post

This is a picture I took during my lacrosse game for my event photography assignment. This is at the draw of the game, after one of us scored. I like how the colors pop in this photo. I also like how The draw is kind of towards the center of the image so it is the first think your eyes are drawn to. I also like how where the sky meets the ground isn't crooked. One thing I wish I had done differently is that I wish I had used a different camera. I used my grandmothers camera, which is better at shooting macro pictures rather than action shots.

Kim Stuart- Sunday Post

This image I took outside of my grandmothers house in Leominster. I thought the lighting was good in this image, allowing the true colors to really come out. I thought the picture also came out good because of how the majority of the plants are green, and then theres the little white daisy flowers peaking out from the center, surrounded by the green.

Lara Dias- 4/30 makeup

This is a picture I shot of flowers outside in the Marian parking lot. I thought the color of these flowers is amazing. I also thought it was really cool that if I zoom into them, I can see water droplets on the petals. The time of day was also perfect, since it was sunny it made the fluorescent pink pop. Although I wish it was more in focus, I think this was a good shot.

Lara Dias- sunday post

After playing around with my camera, I finally was able to figure out the macro option and take up close pictures. I was using my grandmothers camera before since it is a lot easier to take macro pictures with and I had lost the charger to my current camera. I like the orientation and how the flower isn't centered, but that happened to me on accident. However, I did wait until it was around 7 pm to shoot this since it was extremely bright outside all day and I find it harder to shoot pictures when it is bright.

This is a picture I took on Thursday. I found this is interesting because the dandelion is not straight. but a little bit curved. Besides, I think the head of the dandelion is focused really well. The light is just good at that day, and the background is blurry. This might not be my best one, but definitely the most artistic.

This image I took while watching my dog at Simpson Park in Framingham on the Sudbury River. I thought this picture was interesting because it appears like I am standing in the water. I also thought this was a good image considering the how lighting is shining on the water, clearly showing the downward motion of water over the stone decline.

Catherine Ning-Sunday post

This is  photo I took recently. It becomes hot these days and I shot the flower on a nice afternoon. It is  easy to focus on the flower, but difficult to focus on a single flower when there are hundreds of flowers around and they are distracting. There are a lot of details of the flower, too. It looks like spring.

Kim Stuart- Sunday Post

Over this past April Vacation I took it upon myself to go into Boston (I know how surprising and unexpected.) This picture I have taken was At Castle Island. I am extremely blessed to be able to have such history in basically my backyard. This city is so raw with culture and history, in different ways, throughout each and every street. I liked how the sky looked so bright and blue in this picture, and that there are only the tips of the cannons present.

Catherine Ning- Sunday post

This is a traditional  Chinese "window flower". Chinese people stick it to the window to pray for the good fortune next year. I shot it on a nice weather and bright light came thought the window which makes the red color lighter. The frame of the window is also interesting and made the photo artistic.I hope it really bring something for next year.

Lara Dias- Sunday Post

This is another portrait from my term project. There are highlights in her eyes and natural highlights in her hair. She's in focus and the background is blurred. Overall I think this was a good shot, I just wish that the colors in the image were warmer.

Catherine Ning-Sunday post

This is a picture I shot in Natick Mall. There is a bunch of red gift boxes on display and I shot it. The reflection on the glass on the left is really obvious. I changed the size again to make the boxes less distracted. The light is really good, so I can take a better photo of the boxes.

Kim Stuart- Sunday Post

I went over my friend's house this past weekend and decided to take yet another picture of his pet lizard that I love with all of my heart. Despite the fact that I don't think he really liked me taking this, I thought his face being the main attraction and the background being more blurred made for a good picture. I also thought that the lighting allowed for the different colors within his body to come out nicely. Ultimately, I think this lizard is quite the model and is very photogenic, in the right lighting and angel.

Lara Dias- Sunday Post

I think I shot this image on Tuesday while it was raining. I thought it looked really cool when I looked out from my window, so I opened the window and took a few pictures. I like how there is a lot of reds and brown from the wet leaves and trees. Although I wish the image came out crisper, I would've had to use flash to avoid the blur but I didn't like the idea of using the flash to shoot a picture in this situation.

Catherine Ning-Sunday post

This is a photo I took recently. I like it because the picture itself fits the requirement to be a good black and white photo and the black and white mode gives it depth. I like how it is focused and you can almost see the salt on the table. I also like the lightened part of the bottle which makes the picture more interesting.

Lara Dias- Makeup post 3/26 makeup

This is also another picture I shot while working on my term project. It doesn't go with the theme of my project, but I think it was a good picture of her hair. The sunlight was hitting her hair and accentuated her natural highlights in her dirty blonde hair. I think that there might be too many distracting things around her to allow her to be the main subject, but I really like how her hair looks in it.

Lara Dias- 9/2 post

This is a picture that I took for my term project, but decided not to use because I don't think it focuses enough on the subject, which is my friend, Becca. I like how she matches with the car behind her and the light catches in her eye. The lighting is really good too since I took this image outside. I think it is a good image, but has a lot of distractions in the background.

Kim Stuart- Sunday Post

This was a picture I took in Boston during the time I was working on my "Urban photography" project. This picture was taken inside the Faneill Hall market on the upper eating level. Though I did not think it was "urban" enough to incorporate into my project I was involve with this room. I thought the windows were interesting and added greater aesthetic to the old, historic theme to the atmosphere. I liked the symmetry and the overall theme of this market place and I thought that each and every part of this room made for a good picture (despite my sisters big hair being in the way.)

Catherine Ning-Sunday post

This is a photo I took recently. What i like this photo is there are two reflections shown in the picture from both window and the wall. The light from outside gives the red Chinese cross a bright color and noticing that there are highlights all around the cross. Unfortunately I didn't shoot the whole reflection on the wall, but it is still good.

Kim Stuart- Sunday Post

This weekend, to complete my "urban photography" project I went into Boston. I took this image inside the Faneuil Hall Market. I liked how the ceiling that this sort of funky, olden pattern with circles inside circles. I thought this repetitive pattern was interesting and included a lot of depth.

Catherine Ning- Plum

This is a picture that I took last week. I put the plum near the window to get a better high light. The logo on my iPhone inspired me a little bit so I bit the plum before I took a photo. The highlights are successful and I was surprised by the fingerprints in the middle because of the flash light. That makes it interesting.

Kim Stuart- Makeup Sunday Post for 2/20

This is an image I took from inside my sisters room. My sister and I are very into Chinese culture and find ourselves in China town all the time. Last time we went she got these lights and I like how it adds to the overall design of her room. I thought this image allowed for the lanterns to stand out (against a blander background) and that there was just enough lighting present.

Lara Dias- Sunday post

This is a picture of a roll of film. I liked how the colors on the roll matched with the background. Unfortunately, my other camera's charger is lost, so I am using another canon digital camera with a much smaller lens. Because of this the image came out grainy, but other than that I think it is a good example of a macro image. I used the macro setting on the canon camera as well, so it focused in on the film roll well.

Visser Wu Food

This is a picture I took this weekend,I went to Boston Chinatown to have dinner with my friends,I saw the beef is like a heart,So I shot it.

Catherine Ning- Book

This is a picture I took last week for the shape project. I curled the book page and they look really artistic. Noticing that the background is a little bit distracting, I did some work to fuzz the lamp, but it is still not really satisfying anyway. There are some highlights on the book for I turned the lights on, and there are details inside the paper, that is, the words.

Lara Dias- sunday post makeup

This image is one that I took of my grandmother and my aunt on my grandmothers birthday. I like how the light hits them, nothing looks too harsh and theres no glares. Most of the colors in the image are neutral. One thing I wish this image included was highlights in the eyes, but I like how there are highlights in their hair.

Kim Stuart- Sunday Post

This is an image I took a while back at Hampton Beach. Despite the fact that I believe this was during the off season I always liked going here even if I couldn't swim. I really liked how the sky looked in this image and how you can see all these different shades of blue all in one image.

Catherine Ning-Sunday Post

This is a picture I shot for the project "science fair". This is a pretty interesting photo because you can actually tell where the light came from. However,  I think the dark side of the object is too dark because I shot the picture near the window and the contrast of light is so strong.  I think I focused pretty well and there are some details. Anyway, that photo looks good to me.

Lara Dias- Sunday Post

This is a shot of one of my grandmas wilting roses. I was impressed with how close I could focus in on the flower and how bright the colors came out. I also like how it is the only thing in focus. I had to use the flash because without it the shots kept coming out blurry, shaky and the colors were dull. You can also see another wilted rose in the back.

Kim Stuart- Sunday Post

This is an image I had taken that I recently found on my camera. I always liked this image because of how the sun allows for such an interesting scenery. World's End in Hingham has always been a very cool place to me and I enjoy this setting immensely, the bridge no matter what weather or season will always make for a good photo in my opinion.

Catherine Ning-blowing snow

This is a photo I took before vacation when the snow had not melted yet. On that day it happens to have a strong wind that blows the snow up. I raised the camera and shot the snow blowing in the sky. I  like this shot because the snow flying in the sky is beautiful and artistic. The blowing snow is kind of hand to shoot because you cannot really see things when you are focusing. Anyway, I think it is worthy posting.

Visser's Sunday post

This photo I took it in NewYork my friend's house,It is in Manhattan. It's like a serviced apartment, the environment is very good, and the scenery of the window is nice, there is a long river beside the apartment.

Kim Stuart- Sunday Post 2/26/17

This is an image I took right when I got back from South Carolina. I liked all of the contrast that appeared such as the black and whites and the green and then lighter colored grass. It was surprisingly warm out when I got back so I thought this would be the perfect time to take pictures that also included a lot of shadows.

Lara Dias- 2/26

Once again, I took this picture with my grandmothers canon camera. It is of a very small piece of a cake stand, the camera is capable of focusing on really small objects which is fascinating to me because I have never been able to experiment with a camera that good. I do wish that the metal rings on the outer edges of the image were focused better, but other than that I think this is a good shot.

Lara Dias- 1/29 makeup

I took this image on my grandmothers canon camera. It is capable of focusing on tiny details in objects, which I wish my own camera could do. I took this from a bouquet of flowers that my aunt got on valentines day. Although I wish all of the small flowers were in focus, the fact that only the closest ones are give the photo depth.

Lara Dias- 2/5 Makeup

This is a picture I took this weekend at my grandmothers birthday party. She makes Brazilian treats at home as a business for birthday parties, so she made these chocolate cones for her own party. I like how all the colors in the image match. Part of me wishes I hadn't used the flash, but I know that if I hadn't it would've been poorly shot. I took this image on my grandmothers canon camera.

Catherine Ning- snow

This is a photo I took on a snow day when we don't have school. I decide to post earlier because I will   forget posting next Sunday! We had a snow day at that time and I got up and I went out and shot a picture.  The previous photo have a lot of white colors and that give me the opportunity to change it into black and white mode. The tree in the picture kind of blocking the the house and you can actually see the extension towards the house.

This is the Jesus statute infront of the school I think is beautiful with the snow and background have some green trees.

Lara Dias- Snow 2

I took this image outside of the building, near the statue of Jesus in the back of the parking lot. The direction of the light caused a lot of shadows to appear in this pile of snow. I think this is a really good picture, and it would've been a lot better if I had been able to use my actual camera. I like the variation of sizes between the clusters of snow, and how deceiving the image is. It looks as if you were to pick some snow up, it would be hard as ice, but in reality it would fall apart just by being touched.

Kim Stuart-Makeup classwork for Thursday

I was unsure whether or not you wanted me to post this image that was our classwork this past Thursday that I missed, along with the Friday classwork image but regardless I believed this one was one of my better images taken. I thought the contrast of trees to white background allowed for a good image. I also liked how there was a lot of underlying depth, with the houses and the pond in the background.

Kim Stuart- Sunday Post

This was the image of which I took this past Friday and believe is the best out of all others. I have always really liked this tree and where it is placed in the parking lot. I thought the seemingly black looking tree contrasted the grayish-white sky very nicely and the snow helped add to the images over all aesthetic.

Catherine Ning- Flag

This is a photo I took in Marian by Thunder Street. I stand in the snow and the origin picture was huge, so I zoomed in and there are more details of the flag. I also change the colors and the original background is blue. The black and white picture gives more depth. The white dots about the flag, is the snow blowing by the wind, which creates a sophisticated atmosphere, but actually it is really hard to focus in such strong wind and I can almost see nothing when I was shooting. I like this because the flag is just like United States, a country which stands in snow and wind.

Kim Stuart- Sunday Post

This is an image I took over this past summer. I took this under a train tunnel right in between where you would find the Sheraton and Samba West restaurant, here in Framingham. A lot of people come here to spray paint graffiti and I really like walking through here sometimes and just looking at whatever else has recently been put up. This lighting I believed really brought out the true colors in these paintings and I liked how the tunnel looked so long from this angel. I will truly miss these little spots in Framingham when it comes time to leave next year.

Catherine Ning- Winter Misc

This is a photo I took near Wachusett. There was a beautiful snow and I shot several photos with my cousin's help. I also change the colors using my computer so the blue color of the water is dreamy, but the original one do not. I like the mood of the picture a lot because it create a warm and bright world. Anyway, I like everything but the 2 people over there.
