Coral_Julianna

I took this photo of a piece of coral I have in my sea shell collection. I like this photo because because of all the textures I was able to capture in the coral, all the tiny grooves, holes, and lines that are marked in the coral. I also like the focus in the photo because it is a small depth of field so it draws you into the front of the photo rather than the back. I also like the background of the sand and pebbles because I think it adds to the whole beach feel of the photo. The only thing I wish I could change in the photo is the lighting, it is a bit dark. I tried changing the lighting, but it made the photo look more yellow, which I did not like.

  1. I really like this photo. I really like the shallow depth of field in this photo, it allows the center of the coral to be focused. With the shallow depth of field it pulls the center of the coral to have the full attention in this photo. I like how the rest of the coral and the background is blurred out. I also like that with it out of focus it allows a wispy wavy effect on the background, giving it the illusion that the subject is in motion. The only thing I would have changed in this photo would have been to not have the thing in the top left corner of the photo, it seems a bit distracting. Other than that it is a very well done photo with a great emotion and feel to the photo.
