This picture was taken at 3:00 PM, the sun was setting but still shining. I noticed that the sunlight almost directly shine into my room, which is warm. But when I looked outside, the scene was very cold, bleak and desolate compare the sunlight. I like the feeling of this contrast. So I grabbed my camera and took this photo. Because I was indoor, so my focus is on the dust on the window which can make the sunlight a little bit more soft, and we still can see the outside scene, not clearly but enough to represent the theme.

Seashell_Julianna
I took this photo of a seashell in my seashell collection. I like this photo because of all the textures, that can be seen in the shell and the sand around it. I also like the focus in the photo because it is clear and focused on the seashell. It allows the viewer to focus on the main focal point of the photo. The thing I wish I could change about this photo is the lighting in the top left-hand corner. It is distracting and overly exposed compared to the rest of the photo.
Odisi_McAuliffe
I took this picture during the Christa McAuliffe memorial service thing at my brother's school. It was a mix between remembering her and connecting what happened then to what could be done to improve future space missions and other spin off's of things NASA created that are used in things other than space stuff. The school my brother goes to is the Christa McAuliffe charter school so it makes sense why they had this and since its a techy school they made it connect to science. The guy in red is my brother because he gave a speech .
Alex_Firework-like Pine Needles
I took this photo this afternoon when I went out for a nature walk, I took a lot of photos on my walk and this photo was among my favorites. I decided to choose this photo for this Sunday's post because I thought this photo was an interesting photo. I like the lighting in this photo because it reflects well on the fresh and balanced colors of the green pine needles. I also like this photo because it looks like the pine needles are like the shape of fireworks when they go off. I think the lighting in this photo isn't too overexposed and the color tones of the needles aren't washed out and distorted. I also like how some of the needles aren't exposed to a lot of sunlight while a majority of the pine needles are casted by sunlight causing them to contrast between lighter green and dark green. I like how the two pine branches are the only subjects in focus and the rest of the other objects in the middle ground and background are out of focus because it draws your attention to the two spiky pine needles in the front of the photo. I also like how the center of the two pine needle branches have a little blossom-like cell which is orangish-yellow/green because it adds variety to the photo and also draws your attention to the details of the photo. I like how there is one pine needle in the middle ground on the right middle corner of the photo which is reddish brown because it catches your eye. I think the most important part of how this photo came out was the great subject lighting on the two branches of pine needles because it is well focused, the color details are nice and you can see the crisp details of the nice green needles. I think if the photo was too overexposed the pine needles wouldn't look as beautiful and smooth to observe. I cropped a little bit of the right side of the frame because there were some non interesting pieces to the photo which would have made the photo slightly less interesting. The only thing I wish I could have changed in this photo would have been to have some of the pine needles in the front of the photo in focus because some of the needles aren't focused completely and makes the photo slightly strange and I also wish you couldn't see another pine branch in the background of the photo because it slightly throws off the focus of the front needles of the pine tree branch. I took this photo on my Nikon D3200 without flash, using auto focus settings, natural lighting, and auto white balance.
Teddy_Leaves
I took this photo today using my Nikon D3200 when I was out looking for things to shoot photos of. I chose this photo out of the 50+ photos I captured today, this being one of the ones I liked most to post today. I like this photo for many reasons, this first is that there isn't anything distracting in the background of the photo, which allows it to capture attention to the leaves in the photo. The second reason is I like how when I took this photo the background on the top got darkened by the lens of the camera as it was focusing on the leaves of the beech tree. Thirdly I like how the leaves are in focus and you can see the details of the textures and plant cells in the leaves which create different patterns on the leaves. The fourth thing I like about this photo is the light casting in this photo, I like how the light is reflecting on different parts of the photo such as the edges of the leaves in focus, the top part of the leave, the branches in the background on the lower part of the photo, and the leaves in the upper back right side of the photo. I like it how the light reflections casted a white beam of light off of the different features in this photo. I also like the different sources of colors in this photo such as browns, whites, tans, oranges, reds, and yellows in this photo. I also like how you can see the brown little dots on the leaves where the leaves are starting to oxidize to change the color of the leaves to more of a brownish color. Lastly I like how when the light was casting from behind the leaves in the center it created a shadow of another leaf and of the branch where the leaves are attached to. I think that without these things in the photo it wouldn't be as interesting of a photo as it is.
gracem makeups
These are my late posts. The first photo I like because I tried to get the person shadowed out like so, it took me a few tries but I like having the sun behind him. If I could go back, I would try to have the other people on the ends not be there and only have that one person be the focus. This was taken in Maine.
The second photo is Boston, if you couldn't tell. I didn't do anything to this photo but the scenery was fantastic. I was going back to the car and there was a garage opening and all you saw was this. I like the time of day because you can see the reflection off one particular building very well. I don't like the boat to the right of the photo as much though, I would go back and shift the camera over to the left a little bit so that the boat wouldn't be part of the picture.
The third photo is in the cape. My family decided to have a day trip because it was a nice day and even though it was winter, there wasn't snow visible. The person in this picture is my brother and I took a picture of him looking out on the ocean while I was looking at him looking at the ocean. Its a simple photo but I kind of like it because its simple.
The last photo is a picture of my dad. I was at his office at Boston college and the light was really good out of this window so I asked him to stand in front of it so I could show the shadow off of his face. I think there's a lot of distractions in this which I realized only after I took the photo.

Odisi_Another Post of my Dog
This is my dog again. I took this picture of her in my kitchen about a week ago, I wanted to post another picture in case I missed a post but I think my camera is in Florida so I had to use an older one. I still think my dog is adorable even though this is not one of the best pictures of her. I do like that the light shows on her eye but it is a bummer that the other is not in as good a focus as the other one.

Eric_WinterNight
This photo was taken at the midnight. When I was going to sleep. It was very dark outside so that I noticed the blue radiance of the streetlight shining through the window which was very beautiful and appropriate to the snow and makes me can even feel the cold of the weather by sight because I was indoor, nice and warm. So I took this picture with long exposure, and change the color temperature colder so when I look at this picture, I can even feel the iciness of the air.

Cahines_blurr
I had taken this photo awhile ago and I had forgotten how much I liked it. I don't know what happened with my camera when I took this picture I was taking a lot of picture sat once and this one came out like this. It seems kind of weird that one small branch of leaves is awkwardly out of focus right in the front but to me it kind of looks cool. the other leaves in the back are in good focus. I also like the yellow leaves in the back right corner, I think it adds an extra touch of color to the picture.
Daniel_Painting from my friend
I took this photo on last week Friday, this was a painting form my friend, she was gonna use this painting for sign in the college, she was really good on painting, I also took other photos about her painting, this photo I took very sample, no focus, just a little bit light come from the left, just randomly took a photo, I like this painting more than this photo and I really wish my friend will go to the college that she want.
Alex_Casey
I took this photo of my cousins dog over Christmas vacation on Christmas day. I decided to choose this photo for this week's post because I thought this was my favorite photo I took of her. I like this photo because it is a good up close portrait of their dog. I like the lighting in this photo because it is well light and the color is well balanced. I like the complementary colors of Casey's fur and the wooden floor complement each other well. I also like the shallow depth of field in this photo because it draws your attention to her face as well as her hair as well. I also like that her left eye in the photo is in complete focus as well as her face because it makes a nice dog portrait. I also like that her whitish hair complements with the white rug beneath Casey. I also like that you can see all the little details of her short hair texture clearly. I also like that although she isn't looking directly at me she creates a nice candid portrait. I think with the background behind her blurred out makes the portrait photo less distracting to look at. The only few things I wish I could have changed in this photo would have been to have less overexposed sunlight behind Casey and part of the tassels on the rug were blocked because it slightly distracts the view of the portrait. I think if I framed it more to the right the rug wouldn't be visible in the photo and the portrait wouldn't be slightly distracting to the viewer. I took this photo on my Nikon D3200 without flash, using natural lighting, auto focus and fast shutter speed.
Teddy_Sunset Sky
I took this photo a while back when I was in Newport, Rhode Island with my Nikon D3200. I really like this photo for many reasons. I took this photo a minute or two after the sun had set for the day. The first thing I like about this photo is the many varieties of colors in this photo, the colors of the clouds in the sky give off greens, pinks, oranges, reds, blues, yellows, purples, and grays. I also like how the pier in the middle ground gives off a silhouette shadow in the photo. I also love the setup of how I took the photo, there aren't any major distractions in the photo which makes it a great photo to look at. I also like how the sailboats are almost perfectly aligned with each other along the water where the masts of them are almost equally leveled with each other. I also like how the sailboat tie-up posts in front of the pier are equally replicated four times to create an illusion of a never-ending repeating effect. I also like the calmness of the small waves of the water which makes the photo look like a painting. I think the wispiness of the clouds in the sky is one of the most interesting parts of the photo. The only thing I wished I could change would have been to have not gotten the little pole in the bottom right corner of the photo and the post in the top right of the photo.

ParkerY_Misc
I took this picture when helping to set take a part a holiday set and then I saw this and took a picture. I like this picture because it is so crisp and how it is the center of the entire picture I also like how the lights hit the tower as well as how everything but the tower is blurred out.
Alford_nice day
I took this with my nikon 40. I was in Marian and I saw this out of a window. It was a really nice day out. There trees with no leaves on them so I could see all the houses behind them. The grass is freshly cut. There were also a line of parked cars. The houses and cars were all different colors which made it look nicer. I tried to have a good background also.
Julianna_Jewelry
I took this photo of a bracelet my grandparents gave me. I like this photo because of the clear and crisp focus it has. I also like how you can see the little details in the silver leaves and on the grapes. I also like the depth of field in this photo, the focus is right on the main focal point of the bracelet. The only thing I wish I could change is the background. I do not like the white and yellow mixed together. I tried cropping it, but it did not work out because it also cropped out some of the details which I did not like. I also tried taking the photo at a different angle, but the yellow was still prominent.
jonny_happy weekend
I took this picture when i was in boston this weekend. My friends and i all stand together to make a friendly view to show how good we are. And i still think i should make the light more lighter. And next time i should bring more friends to come.So i think that will make my photo more active

Alford_ Boston at night
This picture was takin with my canon CD. For one of my basketball games we drove through Boston. Since it was night time I thought that this would make a good picture. I wanted to get some of the bright buildings in the picture. Along with the car and the their lights. I also wanted to get some of the green street lights in the picture. I really like taking pictures of Boston at night.
Odisi_DogAgain (because I didn't post last week)
This is my dog again. Her name is Robin. She was laying on the floor so I decided to take a photo of her since she is the cutest thing in my life. I kinda like this photo because it is just her face. I like that the background is a little blurred and the space in between he eyes and above her nose is in a lot of focus.
Odisi_Poro
ParkerY_Misc
I took this picture in NYC at Rockefeller center. I like this picture because of how the building in the middle is positioned as well as the buildings on the sides are as well. I like how the light grey sky contrast with the dark grey concrete buildings.
Coral_Julianna
I took this photo of a piece of coral I have in my sea shell collection. I like this photo because because of all the textures I was able to capture in the coral, all the tiny grooves, holes, and lines that are marked in the coral. I also like the focus in the photo because it is a small depth of field so it draws you into the front of the photo rather than the back. I also like the background of the sand and pebbles because I think it adds to the whole beach feel of the photo. The only thing I wish I could change in the photo is the lighting, it is a bit dark. I tried changing the lighting, but it made the photo look more yellow, which I did not like.
Alex_Birthday Cake
I took this photo in November when I visited my grandfather on his 85th birthday. I decided to choose this photo because I was scrolling through my photos on my camera and I came across this photo which I thought was interesting. I like this photo because everything around my grandfather's birthday cake was not visible because it was dark in the dining room. I like that the only thing lit up in the photo is the birthday cake itself, because it brings your attention to only a single object which is the cake and the candles. I like the glow of the candle light reflecting on the cake because it adds detail to the photo and you can see all the detailing and texture of the cake, and you can see some glossy reflections bounce off the left corner of the cake. I also like this photo because there are a variety of different colored candles which makes this photo less boring. I also like how the bluish part of the flames on the candles complement with the blue letter candles. I also like the point of view because the way I took this photo, the cake is not facing me in the front. I like how its backwards which makes a mirror effect. I also like how some of the candles have different size flames, which some flames are taller than each other. I also think the texture of the cake is important in this photo because it makes this photo appealing to look at, and the texture of the cake is almost in complete focus. The only thing I wish I could change in this photo would have to also have the candle flames in focus because they are not crisp. I took this photo on my Nikon D3200 camera without flash, using natural lighting from candle light, auto focus and fast aperture settings.
Teddy_Casey the Beagle
I took this photo when I was in Texas during Christmas break of my aunt and uncle's beagle named Casey using my Nikon D3200. I love this photo because of many things. The first thing I like about this photo is the lighting in this photo, it couldn't have been anymore perfect for this photo, there isn't any harsh light contrasts or overexposure in this photo. I used only natural lighting to capture this photo. I also love how there isn't anything distracting in the background of the photo to distract the viewer of the subject in this photo. I like how the wooden floor is complimentary to Casey's ears in the color of the brown floor. I also like that the eyes are in complete focus, which makes this a great portrait head shot of Casey. I also like how most of Casey's body is in focus, which allows the fullest attention to her. I also like how you can see the light glaring in Casey's eyes, which creates a mirror reflection almost like a lens on a camera would reflect. I think that also with the light coming on the right side of her ear creates a great presence in this photo for the viewer. I also love the many different colors of hair on her body to establish a great tone to the photo with a variety of color options in this photo of blacks, grays, browns, whites, tannish tints, as well as the colors on her scarf of blues, reds, greens, whites, and black. Without these options and features in this photo it wouldn't be as interesting of a photo as it is. I don't think I would have changed anything about this photo.
Jonny_food in boston
I took this picture when i was in boston this weekend. I think i feel the shrimp make me think of my hometown in China. Because my hometown is famous for shrimp. So i look this picture for memory of my hometown.

ParkerY _Misc
Posting for Jan 3th. I took this picture in NYC, Queens. I like this picture because all the lights and ornaments contrast with the black sky and looks really cool. I also like how the blank black space creates an atmosphere around the tree.

jonny_holiday pictures( because i forgot to post on sunday)
I took these two pictures when i was in china during christmas. These two are from my favorite restaurant in shanghai. Why do i say that? Because the shrimp is my favorite. and the first one is steak .That make me feel the best of Chinese food.
jonny_holiday
I took these two pictures when i was in China during christmas. This place is one of the favorite places in shanghai. What's mare important thing is that i have a companion with my mom and my sister. So that's why i think this is pretty much more important.

Cahines_Christmas
These are two photos that I actually took after Christmas. The first one is a close up of a ginger bread house. I like this one the best because it's in good focus and you can see a lot of detail in the candy pieces. You can also see little parts of icing clue that wasn't perfectly placed. The second one is a close up of a Santa hat on a mini Christmas tree. This one is also in good focus and has the background and other un important things blurred out. I especially love how you can see details in the red ornament.

Alford_reef and tree
The first picture I took with my canon 5D. It was at my grandmothers house. This is her back door. She put her reef and all her christmas cards on the door. So I thought that it would be a good holiday themed picture. I had to zoom in the best I could to get the best result for a picture.
The second picture I also took with my canon 5D. This was taken in my living room where we put together and decorated our tree. So I waited until it was dark outside. So when it was dark outside I turned on all the lights and I tried to get as many ornaments in the picture as possible. I also tried to get enough lights shining at one time.
Julianna_Holiday Photos
I took these photos of Christmas decorations my family had. The first one is of one of the ornaments we had on the tree. I like how it is clear and in focus. I also like how you can see the tiny sparkle details that are on it. The only thing I would change about it is how there is a tiny over exposed part on it. I tried to get rid of it by taking the photo at different angles, but the over exposer was worse. The second photo is a photo of one of the lights we had on a string of lights we had hung on the mantel. I like this photo because you can see the tiny details in the light and how it brightens up the background. I also like the contrast in textures. The light is smooth and shiny while there is rough woven cotton in the background. The only thing I would change is the shadow in the corner. I tried cropping it out, but if I cropped it all out I would have cut off some of the light along with it.
Daniel_Holiday Photos
I took these two photo outside my back yard, this first photo was my host parent's swimming pool, as you can see, it has been freeze, but the beautiful part is the ice shape in the swimming pool, it looks like a little mountain in the middle of the swimming pool, I really like it. The second one was took in the forest which was from my back yard, I put the camera on the ground and took this photo, I like the surface of the snow, it looks really shine especially with the sun light. The little trees on the photo are really funny, because their height is like from short to tall, but actually they are the same height and somehow I just randomly got this funny view. I think for me, during the holiday I prefer like to embrace the nature, because nature always have many beautiful sight waiting for me to take the photo from them.
Alex_Holiday Photos
I chose the top photo for my first holiday photo because I think this photo was a nice photo of the presents under the tree. I like the balance of color with the present gift wrapping complementing with the pinkish red rug and the brown wrapping paper complementing with tannish white part of the rug. I like the lighting in the top photo because it is not too overexposed to too much light and the color is well balanced without any color distortions. I cropped the top of the photo and part of the corners because there were some distractions with chairs partially framed in the photo so I cut them out to make the photo easier to look at and to focus on the Christmas spiritual essence of the photo. I like how there is a pattern of green and red and pink in this photo because the gift wrapping balances the tree with the Christmas colors. I also like that the photo has a wide focal range in this photo which makes this photo more visible to observe. I also like the bottom photo because there are a lot of different ornaments on the tall Christmas Tree in the George W. Bush Presidential Library Christmas exhibit. I was fascinated by its enormous height of around 18 feet. I also found the ornaments funny as well because the ornaments towards the middle of the photo are sewn dolls of the characters of A Christmas Carol with Marley in the red robe and wearing a night cap on his head. I also like the balance of color in the second photo because it has an even balance of whites, reds, and gold. I also like the reflection of the room shown through the shiny round silvery ornaments near the bottom of the photo. I also like the lighting because it isn't too harsh except for the top right corner of the tree. I wish the spotlight on the tree wasn't shown in this photo because it slightly distorts the colors in the bottom photo and it washes out some of the green branches and some of the ornaments near the top of the tree. I also wish the focal range in this photo was a little bit wider in the bottom photo because it is blurry near the top of the tree. I took these photos on my Nikon D3200, without flash and using natural lighting and auto focus adjustments.
Teddy_Holiday Photos
I took these photos when I was in Texas during Christmas break. I thought that these two were among the best holiday photos that I captured during the trip. I like how in the first (top) photo the chair in the center closest to the camera is blurred and out of focus, which allows the dining room table to be the main focus. I like the lighting in the photo, it isn't harsh and it keeps the feel for the photo calm and relaxing. Through this photo it clearly shows a feeling to Christmas because of the colors and decorative napkins and red and green flowers. I love the variations of Christmas themed colors are shown in this photo through the salads, through the napkins, through the flowers, and the candles. I also like how the chandelier light is reflected on both the brass covered light switch and on the glass cups, which allows a sparkle of light to bounce off of the glass. I also liked that there weren't any distractions in the background. Without these features this photo wouldn't have as much quality and strength.
The second (bottom) photo I took on Christmas morning when I was unwrapping presents. I thought that capturing the photo of the Christmas tree would allow the viewer to grab the feeling of Christmas in more than one way. The subject of Christmas in this photo is expressed in three ways through the tree, through the ornaments, and through the ornament that says "Noel", which means Christmas in French. I love the lighting in this photo because the light in this photo comes from two different sources. The two sources are sunlight and the christmas tree lights. The sunlight in this photo is reflected through the right side of the tree in this photo, which allows a semi-silhouette shadow of the branches of the tree, as well as the sunlight casting onto the right side of the anchor ornament. I also like how the light from the Christmas tree light is reflecting on the right corner of the Noel ornament. I like how the christmas lights sparkle through the camera lens. I think one of the best features in this photo is the shiny little green ornament, I love how the light is reflected onto the ornament allowing a mirror reflection image of the mantle and fireplace in the reflection. With the mirror reflection in this photo it allows another feel to the photo. If this photo didn't have all these features it wouldn't be as interesting as a photo. The only thing I wish I could have changed in this photo would be to have a crisper detail of the tree and the ornaments.
