Andrew_Start

I took this photo of the timer in the dark room with only the lighting of the safe lights.  I really like this photo because of the fingerprints that were able to add a nice texture and different values on the color the rim was. I also like that the photo ended up creating a bright pink ring around the face of the clock, as it adds some nice contrast to the other dark colors shown in the photo. In addition, I also like the highlight on the clock face and on the handle because to me this adds even more color to the photo.  The only thing I would have liked is if the clock face wasn't as blurry as it is.

Andrew_Make up

I decided to upload this photo as I have a few to make up.  I wanted to try another shot at taking a photo of my eye.  I really like this photo because of the harsh shadows in the photo as well as the texture on the skin.  I also really like the highlights in the upper part of the eye and the area near the eyelid.  The only thing that I would definitely change is the very distracting highlight on the right side, but I unfortunately don't have an editing system.

Frank_Bottle

I really like this photo because the focuses was on the word but you can still see the variety of things that's behind it.

Andrew_Beverly

I took this photo of the Beverly Hills sign during April break.  I really like this photo because of how centered the sign is and that there is no people in the background.  I also really like the reflection that is in the water, along with the small waves.  However, my favorite thing about this photo is that it's in indirect sunlight, with no harsh highlights or any rays of sun that are distracting in the photo.  My only wish is that I could have edited this photo to give it a nice color tint, and maybe change the time of day.

Pavement_Julianna

I took a photo of some type of marker thing that was on the sidewalk. I really like how the pink is really eye catching and focused and how you can also see the nail or screw in the middle that is holding the pink band down. I also like how I captured the different colors in the pavement as well. I wish that the front of the pink band was a little more in focus because it is a bit distracting.

Katie_Boston

I took this photo in Boston on a sunny day at 2. I liked how clear and in focus the entire photo is. Nothing is too blurry. I also like the patterns on the top of the bridge-tunnel thingy (I don't know what its actually called) and the shadows formed by the sun, although they might seem a bit harsh, define the bars and make them look 3D.

Baxter_Twisted Bark

I love nature photos, but I was particularly drawn to the way the bark on this log was coming off and coiling back. I really like the contrast and neutral colors in this photo. I just don't like that there are so many leaves covering the beautiful texture of the bark. I also don't like how shallow my depth of field is. Overall, it's not my favorite photo, but I still think it is strong.

Baxter_Natures Alchemist

Ever been to Purgatory Chasm? No? GO NOW! It's a beautiful place with plenty of area to explore. It's also where I took this photo. This is one of my favorite pictures that I have taken this year. I like how it's very clear, but the tree in the background is blurred out. I love the vibrant green moss and the leaves that cling to the rock, but what I love most about this photo is how the water looks when it was dripping down. I think this photo captured motion fabulously, while also stopping the rainwater right in its tracks. To me, this photo looks somewhat magical, and I am very proud of it.

Baxter_the Climb

It's Eli the Wonder Pup!!
I think this photo is strong and easily portrays motion, in addition to struggle. I was going for a walk in the woods, and Eli decided he felt like climbing. I love the pile of rocks infront of him, which seemed to extend forever. The only thing that I don't like about this photo is that the branches in the way are very distracting. I didn't want to break them off because I was afraid that if I stopped to do that, Eli would leave me.

Baxter_Eli, the Wonder Pup

When I was taking my dog on a walk through the woods, I tried to capture movement by getting him to run through puddles. Though it may not look as though he's moving much because of the positioning of his body, it is clear that he is running because of how the mud was captured while it was being thrown up in the air. I wish that the sun was behind me, but it was a fleeting moment, so I didn't have the time to get the perfect angle. Even though I can pick out many things in this image that I don't like, I still think this is a strong photo. I love the big smile on his face, the way the water jumps up infront of him, and how shimmering the water is. Overall, I am proud of this photo.

Baxter_Fallen Dreams

I thought this piece was very strong because of it's composition and value. I really like how the ground looks slanted. My main purpose in taking the photo was to capture the beauty of the rain water that had gathered on a bed of leaves, but I thought the bare trees really brought more interest into the photo. In addition, the fallen tree gives a feeling of despair while the water and the moss give a contrasting feeling of hope and rebirth.

Rosa_ Pretty grass

I like this picture because I like the clear blue skies in the background and the bright green from the grass. I also like the chairs in the corner. Picture was taken around 4pm. I also like the tree in the back that's blowing but not fully bloomed. Pictures kind of a rustic theme which I like causes it isn't full out summer it's more of a fall kind of theme, The bright colors give it the summer look.

Katie_Yellow Flowers

I took this photo at around 11 in the morning in a park. I really liked how the light brightened the flower's colors on the stem and the petals, but also the lighting is not too harsh. The shadows are nice and subtle. Also the background is not distracting and matches the subject of the photo, the flowers. And the focus on the flowers is very crisp and clear.

Andrew_Raven

I took this photo of a raven during my vacation in Seattle.  I really like this photo because of its simplicity, meaning that there is no distracting background and that the raven is actually more of a silhouette.  But, the photo also managed to capture some nice details on the raven, especially on the wing, showing its feathers.  If anything were to change I would want the head to be a little more clear than it is.

Frank_pill

I really like this photo because you can see the pill out side and inside, and I really like the color of the bottle.

LittleFlowers_Julianna

I took this photo while I was out for a walk. I really like this photo because it is an up close view of the flowers, so you can see all the tiny detailing and different color shades in them. I also like the background and how it is blurred out. I also like how you can see the blue sky and some of the tree the flowers are on also. The only thing I wish I could is how the flowers are a bit cut off at the bottom.

Eagle_Andrew

I took this photo while I was on vacation.  I really like this photo because of the different highlights along the feathers and the eyes, and I think the huge highlight on the beak adds a lot of detail.  I also really like the different colors of brown that is in the photo, giving the texture of the bird look more rough.  The last thing I like is the small amounts of detail the was shown in the feathers and the scratches on the beak.  The only thing I would change is maybe not having the kind of "glassy" look around the entire photo, but there was no way to take the photo without the glass. (This photo was taken this year, please ignore the date)

Katie_Cherry Trees

I took this photo at a park during the middle of the day, while it was very sunny out. I really liked the pink leaves in the trees because sometimes I get very tired of photos of green leaves on trees over and over again ,and the pink leaves look very nice up against the blue sky. Also the shadows are not very harsh, and I like how dark the branches are compared to the more pastel colors of the tree and sky,

Beni_Flavia

This is my dog Beni. I like the way he is looking to the left like it was planned that way. I also like this photo because it looks more dramatic in black and white. The background is sort of on the whole photo but the wooden panels on the left which is a bit distracting. Another distracting thing is the rope behind him. Overall I think this photo is kind of cool.

Leaves_Julianna

I took this photo while I was on a walk around my neighborhood. It was late in the afternoon when I took it. I really like this photo because of the way the sun is hitting the leaves, it adds texture and some different shades of green. I also like the focus, it is clean and crisp. The only thing I don't like is the leaf in the front of the photo and how it is cut off and unfocused.
