Yellow_Flavia

I took this photo of some flowers on a tree when it was sunny out. I took this on a 50mm 1.8 lens which makes the background of the photo very blurred out. Also I like how the flowers that are in focus are crisp and detailed. Another thing is the position of the flowers and how they are not centered in the photo but are slightly towards the right. The thing I think is distracting is the branch with flowers on the left portion of the photo. I cropped it out but I was not able to post it with this photo on the blog.

Andrew_Keys

I took this photo of my keys in low lighting to practice my taking photos in a dim lit area.  I really like this photo mainly because of the shadows that the light created, while also having the light source being subtle.  I also really like how the details on both the metal on the keys and the detail on the wood came out, giving the photo a couple of different textures.  The only thing that I would change is not having the shadow of the hook the keys are on in the top left corner, but the camera would not focus to well if I tried a different location.

Sprouts_Julianna

I took this photo of some flowers that started growing in my yard. I like this photo because the sprouts are in focus and the lighting is really nice. The lighting is not to harsh, it is nice and soft. I also like all the tiny pebbles that are laying around the sprouts. They add nice detailing to the photo.

Mountains_Katie

I took this photo is Maine over April vacation on a cloudy in at around 2:00.  I liked how the dark clouds mesh well with the mountains and they really compliment each other well. I also like the snow on the mountain running through it. What bothers me though is the radio tower in the corner, but I do like the house sitting on the mountain because it adds to the photo.

Frank_Cat in box

I took this photo just because the cat looks really cute in the box.

Glow_Andrew

I took this photo of my lava lamp at night to practice taking photos of lit objects in the dark.  I really like this photo just because of the amount of light I was able to capture from it, as well as the numerous shades of orange.  I especially like the really bright light emitted from the bottom of the lamp, and that even some scratches on the glass managed to show up in the photo as well.  The only thing I would have liked differently is one of the bubbles in the middle, but I would have lost the right bright light down at the bottom

Far Far Away_Flavia

I took this photo in Boston on top of a hill overlooking the beach. I like this photo because of the arrangement of the composition; the buildings further in the background, the rocks, the shore, and the closer buildings ( I wish they were more in focus but maybe the camera was focusing on the rocks more). Also all of those show a great depth of field by showing how far each area is. I also like the few waves I captured. My favorite are the rocks because of how crisply in focus they are and the why I angled the camera to get just a corner of the rock.

Han Qin-Elsa

I took this picture from comic con in Boston, the backgroun of this photo is too tanglesome, if I can took this when the left side people gone will looks better, I think the light on her face is a little bit dark, and should took this with her whole body.

Katie_A Day in the Park

I took this photo during the afternoon today at Cushing Park. I liked it because the road is centered in the photo and that makes it look like it has more dimensions (or dimension). I also liked how the trees lined up along the side of the road, it complimented the photo nicely. I also don't mind the people in the photo as well, as it makes the photo seem more realistic than a photo that people posed for.

Julianna_Reflector

This is a picture of a close up of one of those snow reflector things you put in the ground so the plow knows were not to plow. I like this photo because of all the lines and geometric shapes you can see. The only thing I would like to change is the blurriness on the bottom. I feel its a bit distracting. I tried not to get it blurry but my camera was not focusing the way I wanted it you because of the lighting. Other than that I think this is a really cool photo.

Rosa_Boston

I did this picture because how the clouds were coming with the dark grey but the other side shows the sun light. The building shows a reflection of the clouds and sun light. This picture was taken at 1pm. The start of the church is a little bit detracting but, not over wellming.

Katie_Pine Trees

I took this photo in the woods near my house during the middle of the day. I really liked the crisp focus on the pine needles in the middle. The blurry background also helps add to it as nothing is very distracting. The lighting is also very subtle and not harsh at all on the needles, which is good.

Flower_Julianna

I took this photo of a fake flower my family uses for center pieces at our dining room table. I like this photo because of all the layers in the petals. I also like the color in the center I think it adds a nice touch to the photo than if the whole photo was white and green. I also like the different lighting I got because there was natural lighting from a window and also artificial lighting from lights above. I think they both add different textures in the flower and brings out the colors in the center. The only thing I don't like is the petal in the center sticking out but it would not move and if I took this from a different angle there would be distracting elements such as food and other table wear.

Baxter_Bees? BEES!

This is another one of my dark room photos. I just took a photo of Mr. Barry's dead bees. I really like the composition of the photo, but I don't like how some areas in the front are a little out of focus. I love the detail on the bees. I really wish that they were in a position where you could see their face, but I was afraid that if I tried to move it, I would break it. That would have been bad...

Baxter_Rising From the Pages (make-up)

One day, I was in the art room and thought to myself, "I wonder what it would look like if I took some abstract photos of my sculptures." VOILA! There it is! I really like how you can actually read some of the words on the page and on the woman's skin. I also really like the shadow underneath her arm. The only thing I  don't like is that it has such a shallow depth of field. I wish it was a little more clear in the background.

Baxter_Making My Own Negative (make-up)

I have been very very proud of this lately. The other day in the dark room, I noticed that when I put sketchbook paper over my photo while it's being projected, some of the image will show through the paper, but if I put dark room paper over the photo, none of the image would show underneath. I decided to expand on this by taking four different kinds of paper and layering them ontop of each other to create what acts almost like a negative. The bottom photo is the faux negative I made, and  the top photo is my fist print of it in the dark room. I really enjoyed making it, and I also really like that I can reuse it with as many negatives as I want. I plan on making another one soon.
